Do you have to be clean shaven every day for a 9-5? What's the appropriate amount of beard length allowed at work?

Thanks.

As long as your beard or facial hair is well kept than they don't care.

Truth. If it's well kept and a "normal" length, most places don't care.

If you're looking like ZZ Top...that would be frowned on.

My beard is not well kept. I am not required to look presentable for my job.

Also, for the lulz, how much would you pay a woman to shave your balls?

I actually do have to meet with clients from time to time. My past two jobs my "clients" were other employees of the company yet I still had to look presentable. What a bunch of BS. Corporate America is just the worst.

We're supposed to be clean shaven. Sometimes I skip on Fridays if I'm not going to see anyone.

If I didn't know what you looked like from your avatar than I could harass you more but I leave that to someone else.

I haven't gone all the way through puberty yet. I, too, have the liberty to shave once a week.

Generally accurate, but varies a bit by industry. I work with a number of restaurant groups, some have traditional office rules (or non-rules), while others have their office staff adhere to the restaurant policy (no beards, goatee only, etc.).

I'm a student so there isn't a policy. Although I shave or at least make my beard neat if I'm doing a presentation or interview or something.

To the OP, yes I do. Clean shaven or if you have a beard, you must keep it off of your neck (meaning you can grow it to just below the jawline), no more than 1/4 inch long, and no fu manchu or any other "different" pattern of facial hair. You are allowed to rock a 'stache if it connects to your beard though.

And yes they will fire you for it, I've seen it happen. Not the first time of course, but if they continually have to get on you about it, you can be fired for continually showing up to work 'not in uniform'. Acceptable haircuts, facial hair and lack of visible tattoos are considered part of our image, and therefore you are out of uniform if you come in with something unacceptable, just like you would be if you came in with a dirty ass wrinkly shirt or something. Our company actually won't hire you if you have tattoos anywhere where they will be visible with your uniform on. They will hire you if you come in with crazy facial hair or a mohawk, but they tell you that you have to change it before your first day or you won't be allowed to work.

Where I work (your typical "corporate" environment with both co-CEO's of a S&M 500 company always on campus) there are no clear-cut rules. Just as long as you are presentable. People are all different, and they make sure to allow people to be themselves... but always being and looking professional.

The problem is, I don't grow enough facial hair in a week in order to be able to shave with a razor. The strategy so far is just to shave every monday morning, and it seems to grow out just a little bit before tomorrow. I personally don't think its bad, but I'm also younger than 99% of the people on this forum.

I usually shave every other day or so. I'm a high school teacher, so just as long as I look pseudo-professional, it's ok.

Shave everyday... prefer the look for me. Can't grow a good stache or beard, so it would be the equivelant of trying to hang on to hair by a comb-over... not gonna happen.

I shave about every other day. It gets a little scraggly after a day but my neck gets pissed if I do it everyday.
