Time for someone to step up. Leake vs Kershaw

It is critical to hold Rafael Furcal and James Loney to fewer than 9 hits and 5 doubles....in fact....if those two guys total less than 4 runs and 5 hits.....the Reds will win.

Kershaw should be able to shut down the Reds. Leake will need to be lights out again.

Is this the start of the typical June/July downfall? .. Current 10-Game Homestand and you go 2-2 vs. the Giants, Lose 2 of 3 to terrible Royals and then get spanked 12-0 on game 1 vs. Dodgers w/ your "Number 1" Starter on the mound.... We can't keep falling behind hoping we'll prevail with our "Win it in the 9th mentality"

The good teams forget what has happened in the last 4 games and win these next 2. They got a break missing Billingsley tomorrow, so beating Kershaw tonight would be HUGE.

You gotta love watching Leake. Too bad the misplays early will prevent him from going deep.

misplays....1 misplay and one "look at me" play

Shocking Rolen picked them both up.

Jesus Christ

That ball was 3 inches off the ground and Hunter called it strike 3 on Rolen

He has been a fucking joke tonight

Reds lost...but also got hosed by an arrogant ump who does no wrong.

Calls out Hernandez at home when he was safe....was arrogant about it.....ends the inning....NEXT batter next inning is Phillips and he walks....Votto gets a hit....so at this point it should be 5-3 with 2 outs and Phillips on 3rd and Votto on 1st and Rolen takes ball 4 at the low shin and Hunter idiot calls strike 3........and for the first time as a Reds manager I believe Dusty actually gets mad enough to stand up for a player.....If Scott Rolen argues.....then a mistake has been made.

Should've been 5-3 with bases loaded for Jonny Gomes....and who knows what happens......instead it was still 5-1.

Bad breaks for the Reds but still didn't do enough to win regardless.

NOW....how will they bounce back.

The reds have got to be one of the worst teams w RISP over the last 2 weeks. I also can't believe the ump called that 3rd strke on Rolen. Can we see what heisey can do please???? Seems like he gets a hit every time he comes in.

Dusty finally stood up for a player more than he respected an umpire......Rolen went bazerk and Dusty followed suit as he should've....he typically makes the mandatory showing on the field and never gets mad and walks off like he didn't even care...as a Reds manager he's had about 30 opportunities and this is the first I can rememeber him ever doing it.

I liked Rolen's response on the situation:

I thought it was a ball, he thought it was a strike, we had a slight misunderstanding there.

and 6 f bombs lol

Rolen has earned the respect to be considered right when he argues....he would never fit in the NBA
