Anyone been there recently? My wife and I are looking for a close destination to spend a weekend for our first anniversary. Unfortunately with her new job at UC she can't take vacation days for a while so we are stuck going someplace close. Shawnee is only about 2 hours from us so I've been looking into it. I've been there once before, but that was back in 6st grade and I really don't remember much about it.

Anyway, is it a worthwhile trip or should we look elsewhere?

The bedroom and then the kitchen for her.

Deercreek is good. Haven't been to Shawnee in quite some time either but probably since after the 6rd grade! Have you looked at Hueston Woods? The cabins there are kind of cool and you can still get access to the pool and sauna up at the lodge I think. If you really want to get away, try getting a cabin at Pike Lake state park... very small lake, but the cabin time can be a lot of fun.

also, might look into southern Indiana, Brown County...not far, and definitely will get you the romantic 1 year cred you are after...

Justin,

Check this place out. It is in Perrysburg, which is probably 3 hours from you. It's nice and you can hit up some of the Toledo area attractions (not a ton but some) since its right outside of Toledo.

My best friend and his wife just celebrated their one year anniversary in Nashville. They loved it, said it was a great place. Probably less than a three hour drive from Cincinnati.

Are you walking? 3hrs 45mins tops. Once your out of Ohio you can make time, and you won't be in Ohio long.

You do know that I'm talking about Nashville, IN, right? As in Nashville in Brown County Indiana, the same Brown County in the post that I quoted?

Depending on where in the Cincinnati area you are it will take you between 2-3 hours. Nashville is just about an hour south of Indianapolis.

No I figured you were talking about TN, I'm sure he did as well.

I guess I can see the confusion, although I wouldn't have quoted a post about a place in Indiana, then talked about a place in Tennessee.
