Hopefully this is precautionary and only lasts a few days.

Second baseman Brandon Phillips (hamstring) said after today’s 7-3 loss to Kansas City that he will have an MRI on Monday. The Reds are off Monday.

“To tell you the truth, I don’t know what else to say,” Phillips said.

Phillips, riding a 15-game hitting streak, did not play today. He was penciled in this morning, then was scratched about two hours before game time.

Hopefully he comes back soon.
He has become such a good player after leaving Cleveland.

Probably having the MRI to see why his hamstring hasn't healed. He's been having problems with it for about 2 weeks now and its not getting better. Lets hope he just needs some rest.

Yeah, but yet Cleveland has seen more success than Cincy since trading him.. Kind of crazy isn't it?

You should definitely learn a new trade, because your current one sucks.

He's such an important piece to this team. Hopefully everything is alright.

I remember about a week ago he dove for a ball and came up lame, the Reds were up by a few in the late innings and he stayed in the game. Wonder if thats when it happened or aggravated it?

Yeah you guys definitely seem like you are headed in the right direction. You have a nice nucleus of Russell Branyan and Austin Kearns. The Indians are the team of the future. That Cliff Lee trade where they got Lou Marson, Jason Donald, and Carlos Carrasco was the trade of the century!

I thought it was silly all along to give every other player on the team the rest they needed but to allow Phillips to play every inning of every game.
Hopefully he can come back soon and full strength because he was getting real close to that .315 115 runs 35 double 18 hr 22 sb player I have been harping on for 2+ years as he was batting in the wrong freaking spot

Not at all what hoops said or was even trying to say. You guys havent had to deal with NCF for the last 6 years. It tiresome reading the same thing all the damn time.

One must over look the shots fired some posters are bound and determine to keep this site the way it is while others are soloey responding to the topic at hand.

Phillips has been playing so well for the Reds if he is gone for any amount of time it will def hurt the Reds.

...only if he is batting 2nd!

Janish could fill in for some games just as Cairo did......everyone in the big leagues can play well....some just more often than others
