US advance scenarios:

SCENARIO A

*US beats Algeria
*England beats Algeria and Slovenia

SCENARIO B

*US beats Algeria
*England beats Algeria
*Slovenia beats England

SCENARIO C

*US beats Algeria 2-0
*England beats Algeria
*England ties Slovenia

Not true. We want Endgland to win both games. And we win over Algeria. That's the best/easiest case scenaio. If Eng/Slo tie, then we have to beat Algeria by 2 or more goals to advance via the tie breaker.

Why? If England beats Algeria but loses to Slovenia, and we beat Algeria, Slovenia would have 7 points, the US 5 pts, England 4 ... we advance

If the US wins it will be very unlikely they don't advance, since after goal differential goals scored is the next tiebreaker I believe.

If England lost today then beat Slovenia and the US beats Algeria we would win the group. Although this is the most unlikely thing that could happen.

It would go by goals scored. So if England/Slovenia tied 0-0 we would advance.

Terrible call by the ref basically cost the US the game but the crappy ass defense put them in the 2-0 hole to begin with. Can't worry about what the other teams do at this point as the USA just needs to WIN a game, it's that simple. Win and we are likely in barring something crazy happening.

If England and Algeria tie, we control our own destiny. This is what we want to happen. If Algeria wins, we control our own destiny (but so do they, so the game will be tougher, in theory). So everyone.....just root for a goddamn tie this second half!

Preferably a 0-0 tie. That means, with a win against Algeria and an England win over Slovenia, we'd have an OK chance at going through as the top team from Group C (assuming England doesn't go nuts against the Slovenes)

On the game:

A. That was a laser by Donovan. Would've made Fab1 proud if it was about 6 inches closer to the keeper cause it wouldve taken his head off

B. Gooch and Howard need to get off this long ball bullshit. Its all they did all game. No build ups. I cant be anymore critical than that cause somehow it resulted in 2 goals.

C. We want a TIE!

D. There is no such thing as offside(s). It is offside. If you are offsidesssss you are not in the game at all (if you take the meaning literal)

E. Oneywu needs to learn what (in Tim Howards words, if you read his mouth today) "STEP TO THE FUCKING BALL" means. He cost us both goals by not stepping up on the man with the ball. In his defense, the other defenders could help a bit :D

F. We need to shoot more often.

G. We got fucked by the ref, but should also feel a bit fortunate we tied. We really didnt play great at all.
