Link?

If I'm the SEC and I'm looking to pillage the ACC, I hate two of: Florida State, Miami, Virginia Tech.

They'll fit right in. Overrated year in, year out by the media until they come up NORTH and get blasted like the civil war.

No link yet, its from a source in Blacksburg. Things are happening fast I'm sure it will be in the 'media' soon. Va. Tech AD Jim Weaver is denying it 'As of right now'. http://www.roanoke.com/sports/vtfootball/wb/249964
Texas A&M is also still possible. These are the choices that emerged from the SEC meetings last week. The source says he can't imagine the SEC offering without knowing VT would accept.
FSU and Miami are not wanted by the SEC. They would not add a tv market, among other reasons. My reasons are F$U cheats and the univ. of New Jersey at Coral Gables (Miami) has no alumni fan base.

Either that of Florida adamantly opposes the inclusion of Florida State or Miami.

It's been clear for months that the Big Ten's move could cause the SEC to raid the ACC, and then the ACC will raid the Big East. If that happens, well when it happens, Notre Dame will be forced to join the Big Ten because their sports programs will need a home.

Look for the SEC to take Virginia Tech and the ACC to take one of these: Rutgers/Syracuse/Pittsburgh/Connecticut/West Virginia/Cincinnati/Louisville. My personal bet is on Pittsburgh or Syracuse.

If the SEC gets Va Tech then they are going to have to grab another school to make it even. Then that causes the ACC to counter that, and then that causes the Big East to react and then ND probably joins the Big 10

Florida plays F$U every year already, the SEC knows F$U has nothing to offer. No new tv market, weak academics, etc. Miami has much less than F$U. They have Randy Shannon because he is all Donna Shalala could afford. scUM has serious money shortfalls.
I agree with you about the Big10 forcing ND's hand. I think there will be more than 1 school leaving the ACC, but I don't know who or where.

Let's say the day of the Super Conference is upon us and the SEC pillages the ACC for three schools (in addition to Texas A&M) or four (if A&M goes west). Let's say Va Tech, Georgia Tech and one or two more (FSU, Clemson, or Miami in that group). I think the ACC would look to strike at basketball as well as football. If Big Ten gets Rutgers, then the ACC would snag Syracuse, Pittsburgh, and UConn to fill the void (if the SEC takes 4, through in WVU). That would produce a behemoth for basketball.

The Big East football conference would basically disintegrate. Cincinnati, Louisville, and South Florida (and possibly West Virginia). I think that would force Notre Dame to the Big Ten.

One of two things could happen, the MWC takes the Big 12 North castoffs, or they pair with the Big East castoffs, plus a few C-USA and non-football teams to form a new central states league.

Cincinnati, Louisville, South Florida, West Virginia (possibly), Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, Missouri and Memphis (if WVU is gone).

Just mindless speculation. And this is only if the leagues all feel the need to accelerate their aim at 16-team setups. Which, i feel, the PAC-16 would force the hand.

Tx A&M and Va. Tech to the SEC.
Forget about Miami, FSU, Ga. Tech, or Clemson to the SEC. None of those 4 will get an invite.

I still believe my source , the invite is there. Maybe they will say 'no thanks', maybe they are waiting for the chips to fall in the Big12's.

Polite denials and shrugged shoulders will be the only information gathered by the media when in talks with school officials. Until a formal decision is made one way or the other, anything is possible and that includes Va. Tech to the SEC.

In DC, the buzz is VT to the SEC, also Maryland to the Big Ten. Although from conservations I've heard, no one is really taking them seriously.
