The only high school kids not acting cocky on this show was Roger Bacon in the process of beating Lebron's gang for the state championship. Funny, they weren't dancing, flexing, passing off the backboard to each other or anything else. And they had just pulled one of the biggest upsets in OHHS b.ball to win a state championship.

I thought they got beat for the D2 title, but won the titles in D3. I could be wrong tho. It's happened once before.

ASVSM were in D3 for two years, then moved up to D2. They traveled the country and DESTROYED the best teams from different states. Being D1 in Ohio would have made no difference at all. They were one of the best high school teams of recent memory. They deserve to show boat a bit, because they can back up the talk on the floor.

you saw 2 minutes of game footage. You really think Roger Bacon kept their mouth shut the entire time? I'm sure they did a fair share of talking. I saw Bron play in Highschool quite a few times and often times it was the other team and their fans that were doing the talking......Have you watched the entire movie? Lebron has had people telling him how great he was since he was in the 5th grade. You dont think you might be a little cocky? come on

Seeing LeBron now makes me feel old. Damn, I remember jumping on Dru Joyce when he and LeBron walked through the Schott back in like '02 like it was yesterday.

Not a fan of the guy at all, but Akron did put a show back then. From the half-court shots in pre-game to Joyce's unlimited range to LeBron's windmill dunks. They were a spectacle.

The State Tournament has never been the same since, and never will be again.

The Roger Bacon game is the most exciting high school game I've ever been at. The ENTIRE lower bowl, sans Akron fans, wanted LeBron to go down, and that's the truth (which is funny considering all the Ohioans who are pining for him to stay now). And it wasn't because Bacon had a great underdog story, which it did. It was because Akron acted like a bunch of entitled punks the entire weekend. The night before the game, on local Columbus news, LeBron stated that he would let no one come in the way of him bringing a title to his team. "I'm a warrior."

And to think Alter almost had them the following year ...

I was at that game and sat in the lower bowl. There were plenty of people at that game pulling for SVSM

I've been going to the state title games for years. I didnt think SVSM or their fans were that bad. I dont think I have seen any fans/players as bad as the kids for St Eds a few years ago when they lost to Newark in the title game. Those were some of the most arrogant people I have ever seen.

Just rented it and watched it. Was a big fan. Yeah, they were cocky punks, but yes... it was high school.

I agree with this...everyone wants the underdog to win. But if you look at that Roger Bacon roster....not really an underdog. Anyhow, this was also the case when a tremendous Ironton team played North College Hill and all those recruited players.

Side note: I was at that game and me and a buddy sat with the 1981 or 82 Roger Bacon team that won a state championship...it was funny. Tickets were so high that 2 of their players scalped their tickets to us...the others from that team couldn't believe it...lol

Kobe is cocky, but he gets praise for it.

Lebron is cocky, and he's just cocky.

LOL Gotta love the haters.
