I know there are bigger issues in this world, but this really chaps me. If anyone is from the Toledo area, they know about the Maumee Cinemas on Conant Street. Beautiful HUGE complex. Then, what did the EINSTEIN's go and do, within the last couple of years they went and built similar cinema complexes at Levis Commons and The Shops at Fallen Timbers (all literally within a couple of miles with one another). It doesn't take a genius to figure out that this was overkill and that there was no way all three facilities could be supported within such close proximity of one another.

DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, now, THANK YOU VERY MUCH, we are going to have YET ANOTHER unsightly abandoned business litering our streets.

That place is very nice. Saw a few movies there when I lived in Perrysburg. Unfortunately, Maumee has nothing to offer but that anymore. Fallen Timbers is very nice. Levis Commons is also very nice. They have a surrounding area that can support the complexes. Movie market in Toledo is such a sham. One of the most expensive movie tickets in the nation I believe.

I agree--it's a gorgeous complex that will be mothballed...but,IMO,to hell with going to movies...DVD's & VOD & PPV have it all over them anyway ;)

Watched many a movie in Maumee, including The Dark Knight on opening night. It was convenient to where I lived my last couple years in Toledo. I've never been to the theaters at Levis Commons or Fallen Timbers. If I was still there I'd be pretty bummed.

Some cities are just stupid about this crap. There used to be a Lawson's next to, I believe, a dry cleaner in a small strip in Brunswick. They thought they'd be cute and put in a Dairy Mart (now Circle K) on the other side of the dry cleaner. Well....Dairy Mart bought Lawson's so there was a now a dry cleaner sandwiched in between 2 Dairy Mart's that weren't 20 feet away from each other....BRILLIANT!!!

I bet if someone bought that theater and charged $6/ticket, they'd make a killing...

Personally, I go Levis to see movies because it's closer to my house but it's still sad to see it close...

No idea. This was years ago (can't remember). I'm sure they have corrected this issue (multiple Dairy Marts) by now. I haven't been to Brunswick in about 20 years.
