Syracuse- Shitty football (used to be decent), great hoops, NY market, Academically, well the Big Ten gives a fuck I guess.

Pitt- Decent football with some tradition, geographically in middle of alot I guess, decent market, hoops is pretty strong, academics is up the par with Big Ten I guess.

West Virginia- Good football and hoops, no market, good fan base, academics dont fit Big Ten. ACC or SEC. BUT SEC probably dont wanna head to Morgantown in late Nov.

Cinci- Recently very good in football, been down in hoops, cinci market (dont know if that counts), academically not Big 10 material, fan base not great.

Rutgers- Improved football but not good, horrible hoops but may fair better in Big Ten, great Market, great academics, guessing fan base is not great.

UCONN- Just started D1 football, great hoops but may be sliding, Market is probably great with New York and ESPN nearby, no idea about academics.

Louisville- Helter skelter football, great hoops, Market is below average, academics not Big ten caliber, fan base great in hoops, average in football

South Florida- Got good quick in football and in FLA but still average, hoops not good, fan base ????, academics I'm guessing stinks, Tampa might be a good market.

I'm guessing a lot of the Big East will join the ACC if the ACC starts losing schools to the SEC

Big East won't fold in football due to basketball. It is not going anywhere.

I agree and if all the reports that came out today hold true, the Big East may come out of this fully intact.

I'm sure there is some really middle of the road high school football conferences that would gladly take some Big East teams.

Would the Big East add those teams in basketball? If so, how the hell would that work, that is 20 teams? Would divisions, east and west, with the Big East Tournament having two sides? That would be a nightmare.

If Syracuse finds their way to another conference the Big East will be done with Football. There is a very real divide within the conference between the Basketball schools and the Football schools. One of the few members holding things together is Cuse because they were there at the beginning of Basketball as well as for Football. The conference leadership is firmly in the camp of the Basketball schools. If Cuse leaves that link between the two camps is gone and the end is just a matter of time. IF the Big East somehow manages to add the Kansas schools they will have to cut several Basketball only members to make that work.

As much as I dislike Louisville and would love to see them back to C-USA, their market isn't bad. That's one thing the Big East does have is markets. Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Louisville, Rutgers, Cincinnati and South Florida are decent markets. Connecticut is not a bad pick-up either overall. West Virginia is obviously the biggest draw in football.

I think eventually the ACC and Big East end up combining in some manor and creating a fantastic basketball conference and a football conference that tries to do what the Big East is doing now...be one of the small fish but inhabit a pond with other big fish. If they can somehow manage to hold onto one BCS bid, it would be worth it to combine.

Connecticut, Syracuse, West Virginia, and Rutgers to the ACC. Pittsburgh to the Big Ten. Cincinnati, Louisville, and South Florida disperse to others.

USF, UC and UL belong in Conference USA anyway. It's a perfect fit for all 3 quite honestly.
