I've kinda got stuck with showing this new grad the ropes here, and he's driving me nuts. I give him simple tasks like coming up with a design for a pump that we can control the pressure and flow with and sprays at various angles. I even tell him what all he'll need. He can even use a similar design on a different machine in the same lab if he were smart enough to go out and look at it. He comes back with this off the wall design that is complete unnecessary and will cost way too much and will be different than every other machine in the lab. I try to explain standardization to him and he doesn't grasp it.
I hope I wasn't nearly as bad as this when I started, but I'm sure I was. I feel bad for my former mentor now for how dumb I probably was when I started.

yeah working with an intern makes me realize that i didn't know shit when i first broke out. teach him well zwick. i'm trying on my end.

Apparently you missed where I noted how I was this way when I started. No wonder you're having a hard time studying for your exam.. you can't read.

Yeah... and I can remember thinking I did know everything already much like this kid.. I SMH when I think back to my early years.

What you do learn is college really doesn't teach you shit.

Haha I told my friend this the other day because he is looking for a job and was asking me how my new one was going... I told him the exact same thing because he was asking me if it was anything like college. I pretty much already knew that college really didn't teach much for my field.

Teach this kid well though Zwick...
