So the time has finally arrived; I am headed to Stirling, Scotland on Wednesday for just under 8 weeks. I will be studying abroad there (aka slacking off and having a great time).

I have been to scotland once, but I am psyched to be there for a couple months. Anyone else ever studied abroad? Any suggestions? Tips?

The toughest thing was saying goodbye to the gf (she is still at Clemson for the summer, I am leaving from Florida--where my parents live now), but I am sure we will be fine.

Anyway, I work for the media relations department at Clemson writing mostly press releases and whatnot. The idea came for me to write a blog about my experiences there that would be link from the main page on clemson.edu. So I accepted and started the thing last night. I didn't know, but I figured at least one person on here might be interested to read what time in scotland was like.

I am pretty pumped to go. I already have a couple tickets to saturday at St. Andrews for the Open Championship (they were dirt cheap).

^^ Exactly. I know that I won't have this opportunity again in my life, so I took it while I could.

If you don't, consider your time here finished. I'll ban your ass for not coming through. :)

try IRN BRU. It is a soda over there. you either love it or hate it, and i LOVED it. besides that, check out st. andrews (beautiful town), and edinburgh for sure. edinburgh is a great city, and there is a lot to do. besides that if you can make it over to england, london is a cool city and buckingham palace is amazing.

I'm heading there in 3 weeks for vacation. Going to Edinburgh and other parts for a week and then Ireland for a week. You think it will be cold?

^^ Oh shit, I will be around haha, maybe I'll run into you. I have looked at a ton of forecasts, and honestly it looks chilly. For example, the next 10 days it isn't supposed to get above 62 for a high, and some of the highs are around 56-57. Sometimes they get days in the 70s, but they are pretty rare. And it looks like it rains a ton (duh).

I would definitely want to go check out Stirling Castle, lots of interesting and shady stuff went on there.
Are you going to eat any haggis? Ewww! (For the record, I'm going to England in a few months and debating on whether to try blood pudding and some other undesirables. Don't know if I can, based on the name alone.)

If you don't think about what you are eating, haggis is absolutely delicious. I tried it hesitantly, and ended up going back for seconds and thirds. It is SO good. I even got haggis pizza the next night! Haha, I did try blood pudding as well, and was not as receptive to that. But, again I say, try haggis, and DEFINITELY try IRN-BRU.

Things are going great. Iron Bru is sugary as hell, but still very good.

Sounds like a good time!

However, I will never go overseas or let my children again. I let my eldest daughter go to Paris with her friend. She wasn't even there a few hours before they were abducted, doped up, and held to be sex slaves. I was fortunately able to save my daughter, but her friend wasn't so lucky. :(

Alright, I have a couple of new posts up:

The second link contains pictures from my trip to St. Andrews (no I didn't play this time, I have actually already played the course once when I visited to do just that after I graduated high school--though I am going to try and walk on as a single after the british open is done).
