66 years ago today American servicepeople were making the ulitimate sacrifice in the largest invasion in history fighting to end the evil scourge of Nazism. Our troops continue today fighting against evil and dying for our nation. Their sacrifce should be appreciated by all of us.

2499 American service people died on D-Day. Our servicemen and women continue to make that sacrifice today protecting us from evil.

I was always under the impression that ~50,000 died on D-Day; 2,499 is such a small number when you see renditions of the battle on Saving Private Ryan and elsewhere.
A ladyfriend of mine's grandfather was there on D-Day and was lucky enough to survive it. Absolutely astonishing what they did.

Whenever I read up or watch accounts of D-Day I'm always amazed. Dudes would not be stopped.

IMO...the greatest American generation to have ever lived. But now, our young people are proving themselves by the masses. To all that are included...thank you from a Gulf War tanker....7TH corp.....hoooooaahhhh!
