Another fight in a big stadium for boxing.

Miguel Cotto(34-2) vs Yuri Foreman(28-0) at Yankee Stadium.
I doubt this fight draws anything close to the 51,000 Pac attracted in Texas two months ago, would be cool if it did though.
Cotto has been one of the most exciting boxers of the last decade.
Foreman is the most boring active boxer period.........................and favored to win.
I am pulling for the upset and picking Cotto.

The undercard fight will be better.
Vanes Martirosyan(27-0) vs Joe Greene(22-0)
Two undefeated prospects fight each other to get a shot at bigger fights, this is the way boxing is supposed to be all the time.
Since Vanes barely beat the shell of Kassim Ouma in his last fight I'm going with Greene.

I'm not so sure about the main event but the first fight should be a good one.

I can't wait. The atmosphere should be pretty cool tonight. And Cotto is probably my favorite boxer right now.

Always a great atmosphere for Cotto in New York and his fights are exciting anyway, win or lose.

I know most betting sites have Cotto favored but on every boxing forum I read people picking Cotto are hard to find and they are the people who actually pay attention to boxing.

...and why is this site taking so fuckin long to load today?
Not having trouble with ANY other site.

Beat down. Even before Foreman turned into Frankenstein. I figured Cotto would win it pretty easily.

Bedlam in the Bronx.

Wow. I'm a big Cotto fan but I've got to tip my cap to Yuri Foreman. He's one tough son of a bitch. His knee gave out a few times and his movement was significantly hampered and he chose to continue to fight even though his greatest asset was gone and he was a sitting duck. He still fought like hell and showed an incredible amount of courage. That was quite the display but Cotto was just too much. Cotto probably would've won anyways but what a wild fight. The towel being thrown into the ring by God knows who. LOL.

Once again a Miguel Cotto fight had me on the edge of my seat.
Gotta give some credit to Steward too. His supposedly shop-worn fighter scored a very good win tonight.
Coming off a lop-sided loss and widely considered to be past his best Cotto moves up in weight to fight a naturally bigger, undefeated title holder. How's that for a comeback fight?
The HBO commentators always talk about Cotto opponents being faster than him.................................how many times do they need to see Miguel beat a faster fighter before they realize he can deal with speed? Torres, Malignaggi, Judah, Mosley and I'm probably forgettng a few others.
Main event was a far better fight than I expected and Foreman impressed me with his heart tonight. Still doesn't make me want to see him again though, when Cotto is not in the other corner Foreman fights are terrible. Cotto vs the heavy bag would be worth watching..........................Foreman vs anybody other than Cotto is a fight worth missing.

First fight was crap.
Very disappointed with Greene, what he did in round 1 is the same thing he did the whole fight. I saw a junior middleweight Dominick Guinn in him tonight....................if he can't dominate he can't win.
Good win for Vanes though, he exposed Greene big time. I don't like his chances against Paul Williams but since nobody else wants to fight him...

Did HBO ever say what the attendance was?
Looked like a big enough crowd that they might consider another fight there.

I don't know if it was official, but I thought I remembered either Max or Jim saying it was around 25,000.

20,272 according to an article on fightnews today.
Not sure if it's a good or bad thing for boxing but the past few years it seems like the fights that draw the biggest crowds always happen when there is not an American in the main event.

Cotto/Foreman generated the highest tv rating HBO has had in 2010.
