Phillips gets a 1 out single, steals 2nd, and goes to 3rd on the catcher's throwing error. With one out Votto Ks. 2nd time this week Votto fails to get an RBI in the same situation in the 1st inning. Rolen walks - Hernandez not interested in letting him have anything to hit. Bruce hits a one hopper up the middle on the 3-2 pitch for the final out and the Reds miss out on a run they should have had without having to get a hit with RISP!

Morgan gets a one out seeing eye ball single to Phillips left. Then Zimmerman hits a DP ball to Rolen, but Phillips can't get the ball out of his glove cleanly and only gets a force, setting it up for a Dunn HR, but he doubles instead to put runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 out for Willingham who flies out to CF to end the inning with a 0-0 score. Hernandez and Harang each have thrown 24 pitches.

Reds break the scoring ice in the 2nd with a Stubbs single lined over the 2B head. Stubbs stole 2B and good a good jump on the Hernendez laced slow pitch from the pitcher Hernandez over the SS's head to score easily with one out.

Harang throws a wild pitch in the 2nd, and with that and walking the pitcher with 2 out it costs him the lead on a blooper over Cabrera's head. 1-1 after 2 with Harnag having 53 pitches and Hernandez 43.

Livan Henandez glaring at the ump in the first inning when he didn't call Votto out on his tailing pitch on the inside corner paid dividends when he throws the same pitch to Bruce that wasn't as close as it was to votto, and the ump rings up Bruce to end the Reds' 3rd.

got in from softball and what do i find? Aaron Harang battling with runners on 1st and 2nd and no outs. Some have asked, what do we do when Edinson comes back? Well, Aaron your job may be in jeopardy if Voltron pitches well.

Harang done after 4 innings and 98 pitches. Reds leaving a lot of opportunities on the table. They get one to tie it 2-2, but the potential to score more was wasted.

Bad call on the 2-1 pitch to Owings making it 2-2 instead of 3-1, then he flies out on the next pitch. With all this talk about expanding instant replay, the #1 thing they can do with technology to make the game more fair is to not let the umps call balls and strikes, let technology do it!

Owings struck out Zimmerman on the 1-2 pitch, but the ump wouldn't call it, and then he walks him and loads the bases with two outs! Dusty takes out Owings in favor of Herrera.

Clippard looks pretty good. 7-3 on the season with 10 decisions in only 36 innings with 1.72 ERA.

Cabrera gets blasted trying to block 2B on the pick-off play after the error on the fly ball to LF.

Rosario got Phillips hurt on the out at first on the bunt, by throwing a tailing ball into the runner.

Scott Rolen messed up on that bunt...With runners on 1st and 2nd, 3rd base stays at home unless it's a hard bunt. Pitcher has 3rd baseline. Could have been a double play.

All kinds of action as Stubbs throw to try to nail the 4th run at home hits the upslope of the mound and hops over the catcher's head and the runner taking 3rd on a close play was called safe, then out after an umpires conference. They say he went off the bag after getting in safely. Since he got there safe on the throw that went over the catcher's head, that Stubbs gets his 2nd error of the inning?

Looks like we could be in for another disappointing June. Harang should go when Homer is back but of course it won't happen. He took his team out of the flow by being out there for 30 pitches every inning.

Big hit by Nix to lead-off with a single to bring the tying run to the plate in the 9th and bring up the top of the order.

Cabrera flies out on a near miss HR to LF, then Phillips becomes the tying run on 1B with a good AB and a single to RF with one out.

They have been trying to get Votto out on that inside tailing fastball all night, why isn't he ready for that?

That leaves it to Rolen and he pops it up to end the game. Very disappointing loss to come off a tough series with StL and then play poorly, giving many unnecessary opportunities to the Nats and blowing many of their own opportunities.

Well that sucks. They need to snap out of this mini funk tomorrow or I'm afraid it could be a prolonged 2-8 type stretch.

Leake going tomorrow means the Reds will won't score through 7 innings.

So help me God Harang I hope you read this site. I am going to find you and dismember you American Psycho style. I am sick of you still getting to put on this uniform. I don't care who does it but get him out of this city.

that is the story of the Reds over the last 15 year...where yoo been?

the continuous problem has been inconsistency...if by some miracle we can put together 45 days of .557 ball.............then we are on to something!

They should be fine as long as Dusty doesn't put 3 subs in the lineup at the same time. His last start still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It's cool to rest the starters, just don't rest 3 of them together... the guys on the bench are on the bench for a reason.
