Bud Light, Miller Lite, Coors Light sales are way down.
Anheuser-Busch's Bud Light, the largest U.S. brand, is down 5.3% year to date, and the drop is in comparison to 2009, the first negative year in the brand's 28-year history. It's no less grim at No. 2 U.S. brewer MillerCoors, where the company's leading lights, Coors Light and Miller Lite, are down 0.5% and 7.5%, respectively.

Even though I would probably be considered a beer snob I do drink my fair share of the Bud Light product!

I hate so much about the things Bud Light chooses to be. Sucks that it is down so far, though.

MillerCoors Chief Marketing Officer Andy England said that unemployment remains particularly pronounced among the 21- to 35-year-old men who are the primary targets of beer companies, and also among Hispanics, another key segment. In many cases, they're opting for cheaper brews, or saving their consumption for a special occasion by splurging on craft-style beers. As a result, the "premium" lights are being squeezed by moves in both directions.
Maybe so. I know I haven't had a Miller Lite or Bud Light since May/June of 2005.

I guess i'm a "beer snob," but i still have had my fair share of Bud Light this past year.

Refuse to drink Coors or Miller, though.

It's a pretty well known statistic that sales of good beer always soars during a recession. Same with top shelf liquor and cigarettes.

I think MGD is a decent beer. I also like Miller High Life Light better than Lite.

I was a Bud guy until about, oh, 2000. Then it was whatever wasn't Bud, until right around 2005. Now it's Miller products only (normally Lite...but on occasion...I'll drink some Chill)! Until the end of this year! :p

More and more people are starting to drink beer that actually tastes good, and AB has known that for a while. Thats why you've seen them try to tap into the craft scene with the American Ale and Golden Wheat garbage. But even with their numbers "going down", the big 3 still control so much of the market it's going to be decades before the entire craft brewing scene can even put a dent in the market.

I drink Coors Lite when it comes to beer. Bud and Miller taste like ass (not that I would know what ass taste like, but if I did, I'm sure it'd taste like those two beers)

However, I'll stick mostly to my Jack Daniel's thank you.

I don't often drink BL but had one a couple of weeks ago and it tasted like ass. I am in no way a beer snob I usually drink Miller Lite or Coor's Light.
