Ugh, Jaime Garcia has been very good this year, we're gonna need to score some runs. I'd like to see some offense like we saw on friday and saturday. I'd definitely like some offense from my new avatar!

Supposedly they are being cautious with Votto if you believe what is written. He is available to hit, but they'd rather not strain him too much this early in the season and risk worsening an injury. Sooner or later we're gonna need him, until then.....VIVA EL CAIRO!

The Cards aren't great against Arroyo usually so lets hope he brings his A-game.

Looking at match-ups, this game is HUGE. Not only will this be the 4th series against STL, the teams don't play against until Mid-August and Mid-September. Add to that, the two other match-ups decisively favor one team, where this one doesn't.

Cueto vs Walters - Huge advantage, Reds
LeCure vs Carpenter - Huge advantage, Cardinals

Getting today's game will be big.

Good thing Pujols got out of his slump just before they play the Reds...Im looking for him to hit about 5 homers in the series...Hopefully theyre all solo shots.

Reds win 3-2.

Winnie the Pu goes yard twice, both solo shots.
Brucey and Rolen both go yard for the Red Legs.
Bronson pitches a gem, minus the 2 bombs.

All Cincy has to do is win series... sweeps are nice, but 2 of 3's are musts against St. Louis and others to keep pace

How about those Reds? They are hanging in there pretty well and their pitching is currently out of sight. Can it be? Can they be in the race in August and September. I'm beginning to think that they actually can!

Reds hitters need to lay off Garcia.....he doesn't seem to be finding the strike zone early on in this game.....Hernandez laid off and walked on 4 pitches. Cabrera swung at 2 really bad pitches.

Hopefully this rain delay isn't that long and take away from a Bronson Arroyo outing

Well Arroyo looked like absolute shit after the delay. Wasn't fooling anybody and made BAD BAD BAD mistakes that you can't make against ANY team, let alone the Cardinals.

7-3 now and Carlos Fisher is coming in to pitch. Hopefully we can score some runs against Garcia and maybe make this a game, but it looked early like we were gonna have a chance in this game but that rain delay killed us. Fuck.

Dusty showed again last night by using too many pitchers in the 7th-9th innings and then used Owings in the 10th???

Bit him the next day and the Cards killed the Reds.

It was immediately obvious Arroyo didn't have it after the delay....but Dusty stayed with him.

Fisher and Lincoln should be sent down after this game. Our bullpen is god awful compared to how good our starting pitching is. Both have been given plenty of innings the past week and neither has shown me any flashes of brilliance that would convince me to keep them.

Every once in awhile you're going to have a game where the starter gets blown up like today. Its the bullpen's job to come in and stop the bleeding to give the offense a chance to come back. I have absolutely zero confidence in anybody out of the bullpen not named Rhodes to get anyone out. Time to start from scratch.....I'd say keep Cordero, Rhodes, and Owings and tell everyone else they are pitching for their jobs. If they can't get it done, we start thinking about who from Louisville is going to step up and whether we're going to start converting starters to relievers this early in the season.
