So I just recently switched from DirecTV to Time Warner because DirecTV was being a bag of douche and I was tired of it. Well I went to buy and record the UFC pay per view for tonight and I also have the Lakers/Suns game set to record and an error message comes up saying the pay per view conflicts with the basketball game. So you can't record two things at once watching one of them with Time Warner? Here I was thinking everything was better with Time Warner but apparently I was wrong.

Yeah, if you think Time Warner is good when it comes to anything, you are stupid as hell.

Should have stayed with DirecTV, or switched to Dish Network

Yep, you just fucked yourself switching to Time Warner. You think DirecTV was bad? Wait until you have an issue with Time Warner. You might be the first person I've ever heard that actually made a switch TO Time Warner. :p

With Time Warner, you can record 2 things as long as you watch one of them live.

Isn't that what you wanted to do? Record two things UFC/NBA while watching one of the two?

That's how it is w/my cable provider. I usually watch something already recorded when I am recording two things.

Nah, I want to be able to record two things and watch something else on my list while they are recording. I don't want to watch the game or UFC live. I ran into another problem now. With Time Warner you can't record a pay per view even though it's an option. DirecTv is suddenly not looking so bad.

You know you can buy a TIVO or anything you want with as many tuners as you want and TW has to give you a cable card right?

yeah, you can go out and buy your own DVR and Time Warner has to provide you with a cable card. It's usually just the cost of the programming package that the DVR gives you minus the rental fee. I know a few people who do this. They also were making LCD tv's for a while that had cable card slots, so you could get all the box programming and info straight from your TV with no box at all.

I was a long time Directv cust. The box I bought wore out, and they would not send me a simple receiver box. I was pissed because they offered 4 rooms and boxes to new cust. but they didn't want to keep accepting my money. I got a Time Warner deal for a year and took it. Directv sends me junkmail every week now.

With comcast I can record up to two shows at one time but if you want to watch tv the same time as recording two you have to watch one of the channels you are recording or have it off at that time.

Yeah..that's how Directv is too Fab. Just has the dual tuners in it. When I had mine dish installed...the installer said within the year...they will be coming out with a DVR that has 4 tuners in it..so you can record up to 3 things at once while watching something different, or record up to 4 things at once while watching one of the things you are recording. Plus they are coming out with that thing U Verse just came out with...where if you DVR something in the living room...you can still watch whatever you DVR'd later in another room.

Time Warner is ok....

other times you want to give people over there a nice big Bear Dick Punch and then when they drop to their knees follow it up w/ a curbstomp because of some of the stupid shit they do and what they charge for certain stuff

Time Warner used to be about as bad as it could possibly be. I would have to say that they have improved their service significantly and now there aren't many issues that I have with them. I will say that I had Direct when we were out in the country but our house burned down and we ended up with TW.

I have WOW! and it's really not as bad as some people say. I can DVR two shows at once and watch another channel.

I have so many problems with Time Warner I have lost count. To their credit though they always take care of the problems when I call them and if someone has to come to the apartment most of the time they come on the same day. But I'd really like it if they just had their act together to begin with.
