I dont know why he tried for home. We should have been celebrating first and third with the top of the lineup up. Instead, we were in the dugout and outfield crying.

I know what you are saying hard call either way in the heat of the moment, with my speed and base running skills I probably would have tried it too. So I can't blame him for trying! The call was a good call by the ump though, I was sitting beside the T.R. photographer and he had the pic showing the ball and glove touching his back with home plate still few feet in front of him. Too bad for the Devils though really wanted to see them win on my field. (even though I'm supposed to be neutral.)

Hats off to the Newark coach those boys played a helluva game, One of the best baseball games I've ever seen I would say!

we just turned in our jersey and two of the players said they watched thereplay on whiznews and the replay showed that the fielder ha the ball in his hand and tagged the runner with his glove.

WOW just watched that video it does look like he was safe, I see what you are saying. Looks like he never touched him with the ball just his glove. I wondered in the pic I saw if the angle was too straight on to see if he was actually touching him with the ball. The whiz camera had a better angle being closer to the dugout. Man that really sucks if he was safe but at least the team gave it everything they had.

I wish o could watch it, but it's not like it make any difference now. The umpire was not in the right place to make the call, he was between the mound home and first. The home plate umpire was terrible. I have no clue how he got a regional game.
