I know this might get blown up and moved to the political forum. but I heard on the radio where teens in DC are complaining aboout the condoms supplied by their schools are too small. As a result, the school is now passing out Magnum Brand condom.

There are so may ways to go with this (hence it might get moved) but I am looking at it sheerly from the point of the kids demanding bigger condoms. Are dudes in DC naturally more well endowed than elsewhere? Are they full of it? Why are we caving in and giving them name brand condoms? Couldn't a chepaer brand suffice? P-town, are you a Magnum man?

DC schools are predominantly African-American. I'll let you do the math.

Mom and dad should be supplying those anyway.

True, but aren't most major city schools districts?

joking aside.

the cost of condoms (regardless of size) <<<<<<<< the cost of public aid for a kid born to a teenager.

I still feel that it should be their own responsibility. I mean heaven forbid some of us actually own up to our responsibilities. If you are ready to have sex protect yourself and pay for it your own darn self.

I just think it is a joke. I mean we pay for it either way I guess. Just frustrating there is no accountability in the world anymore.

As much as I agree with your post Bamagirl, I am glad the school is taking effort to prevent teen pregnancies and disease. I would rather see this than more of my tax dollars going to feed children that are not my responsibility.

I have to agree, but you can't just assume everyone is going to be responsible. I'd rather pay a small amount of tax to get these dumbasses a damn condom, than have to deal with more incompetent parents raising future babies on welfare. I'm at the age now where half my friends are pregnant(or have gotten someone pregnant) and none of my friends are ready for a child.

Also, it's one thing to give them a condom, its another for them to actually wear it.

Oh yeah I am with both you guys. It is just frustrating.

I am with you Sleeper I have been out of HS for five years now. It seems like everyone either has a kid, has a kid and is married, or has multiple kids. It is a crazy world.

I think it is interesting you have to get a license to drive a vehicle but don't have to do anything to become a parent. It is scary some of these people who decide to have kids.

I've been out or one year, and it's a shame how many girls I graduated with have a kid or are about to have one.

I guess condoms aren't cheap if you have to buy them, but plenty of kids know the risks and still don't wear them. Teens don't use protection because they don't know better, they don't do it because it doesn't feel as good.

My guess is that is the real reason behind this complaining. Guys don't want to wear them and are using it as an excuse. And the horny bastards have caught on quickly "sorry, baby, I can't wear that because it's too small".
