Not much of fan of his, and I think Philly is a bad job....asshole fans and lacking in talent. Not to mention that I have no faith that their #2 overall pick is going to workout. I love Turner's game, but I don't think he fits the NBA game.

Not sure what the deal is going to be; but I give it 3, 4 years MAX and he's gone.

Wish he would just stick to TNT, I think he does a great job on TV.

I think Evan Turner will be a very good NBA player, but not somebody who can carry a franchise.

Philly has a terrible roster, so I don't understand Collins taking this job.

I think Philly has a pretty decent roster actually. They just played a style that was the exact opposite of what they should have done this past season, hated the coach for it, and collectively threw in the towel by the all-star break.

A 2-3-4 combo of Iguo-Turner-Thad Young (or Brand and have Young as maybe the best 6th man in the league) is definitely a good start.

Jrue Holiday played OK last year as a rookie at PG, and Speights has a lot of potential at center.

Looking from a strictly talent perspective, with a guy like Turner thrown in I would say they are DEFINITELY a top 8 team in the East.

Since Philly is in the East the playoffs should be attainable.

Philly has some bad salaries. However, they have some players who under the right coach can be great players.

Speights and Young for sure. Holiday, Williams and Meeks as well. Iguodala is what he is, and his contract wouldn't be bad on a contending team. Dalembert and Brand are the ones that Not enough production from big guys making what they are. At least Dalembert they could move, no way on Brand.

Jordo, I was just going to say the same thing. What's more, Collins hasn't coached since 2003. Couldn't the Sixers have found someone else, such as an up and coming assistant, a college coach or a former player?

I like the definition of insanity. You keep doing the same things over and over and expect different results. Why do professional teams continue to hire used merchandise when there are so many people out there that are fresh and new and excited about coming into a situation and making a real difference. I'm not against Doug Collins. I just think that in general the "re-tread" philosophy of hiring head coaches is professional sport's version of the "Good Old Boy's Club". I think that a shake-up in this approach is really needed. Who will be the first to try something different?
