the market sucks so bad and oil well production declines over time. Not being able to get new loans for the past 16 months has destroyed me, having to use cash for everything while my incomes are declining. It has finally come to the point where I am going to pay off all my loans with my cash and shut down shop. I will still have residual income, but only about $1900/month (I have to sell a few interests to pay off the loans) the income of $26,000/month isn't enough to pay overhead of about $32,000/month. So, I guess I am throwing myself at the mercy of this shitty ass job market. honestly I am just posting here to get some support. this isn't an easy decision nor am I very hopeful for te future. Thanks.

Sorry to hear this, but best of luck. Things have a way of shaking out in the future. Keep working hard, and good things will (eventually) come your way.

I'm doing 2 things I swore I would never do. I am applying for jobs with the Fed Government and The Evil Empire (Chase Bank).
Being Self Employed doesn't really help your Resume, even though I would perform functions that of a Financial Analyst 3, it's hard for me to be considered for a Financial Analyst 1 position.

Pretty shitty when 1 year you bank a ton of money and pay yourself $100k+, the next year you burn up all your cash on a well that the idiot drillers implode, while paying yourself $40k, to going out of business the next. Times were different when I took off from DFAS and decided to do oil full time. "you want a loan secured by an oil project? SURE no problem!!"Fab1b wrote: Sorry to hear this, good luck to you my friend!
They wanted me to put my paid off house up for collateral on a loan for 1 more project, but I decided that a roof over my head is more important. I have a car and a house, I can get by working at wal mart if I had to with those.

Good attitude to have. Make sure the important things are nailed down and then do what it takes to get by. If you have what matters, it's a fuck of a lot easier to endure the time until things get better.

Luckily my gf accepted a really good paying job just this morning, so we ain't gonna go broke, lol, but the job search is not fun. I have applied for I want to say at least 40 jobs since last Thursday. So far I have heard from 1 application, and it happens to be one of those sales scams where they have you door to door gift cards and stuff, but, I haven't interviewed for a job in so long, I am going to go to the interview anyways just to brush up on my interview skills.

That's probably wise. Send out lots of resumes, network with your contacts, see what you can do. Doors will open.
Are you open to relocating? What sort of job do you want to find?

own a house outright so no relocation, but i can work anywhere in Lancaster, newark, zanesville or columbus. Looking for a business to business sales or a financial analyst job. Interviewing for a Financial Advisor position on Thursday, but I am not sure I want to sell insurance.fan_from_texas wrote: That's probably wise. Best of luck LJ. Remember..shits tough right now. Get in where ever you can if you know what I mean. I looked for almost a year and nothing came up..so I said screw it and went back to school..of course..finished school..THEN my job decided they wanted to bring me back to work! Bastards! I wouldn't have wasted my time going to school!!!

non-profit accounting interview friday. I won't be posting every interview I get, but i feel the first few are crucial in getting my interview skills back into shape as well as giving me confidence that places are at least willing to interview

Show 'em your junk. You're sure to get the job then. Based on pity alone.

Sorry to hear of your troubles, LJ, but I'm sure the right thing will come along soon. Having a paid off house and a car certainly help to take some of the pressure off. I'll keep you in my thoughts and hope that something great opens up for you.
