Don't have a book handy, so I'll ask the all knowing chatter boys. OHSAA baseball rule....only have 9 players on the bench and all are in their line-up, a batter is hit and taken out of the game for a pinch runner from a starter that is on the bench. He comes back in the game and for his next at bat gets walked. They once again put in a pinch runner from the bench who is a starter.

Is this allowed???

Uhh, how can you put in someone as a pinch runner that is in the lineup? I don't see how that is possible.

my thoughts exactly....you could finish the game with 8 players, but no player can occupy two spots in the lineup

Unless the other coach is agreeing to this, I can't see how. I don't have a book handy either, but a starter can't sub for another starter. Maybe the other coach agreed to this so the game could be played?

No, not under any circumstance. If the player is injured and has to leave the game and there are no subs, then you can play with 8. The vacant spot is an out when that position comes up.
