I will be traveling there Saturday any suggestions on what to do or anywhere to eat or shop. Any good sites worth visiting I will be there a week. Also anywhere to avoid or not to do.

Stayed at the Dreams Villamagna Riviera Nayarit in Sept 09, beautiful! Mostly stayed at the resort and booked activities through them. Went into the city for some shopping but it was so freaking hot didn't want to be too far away from our beach and pools. I loved the trip, doing Cancun this Sept. Where are you staying?

Back in 2006, I stayed at the Dreams as well. Like Fab1b, my wife and I mostly stayed at the resort and booked some activiites. We went zip lining in the rain forest and spent a day in town hitting the markets. We really enjoyed our trip there and I would go back in a heartback.

We are staying in a timeshare somewhere in a gated community I'll ask my g/f the name later. How far was the rain forest you went zip lining in. Does anyone know how far the ruins are? I would really like to go into the town I have heard there are great deals on Silver. Is the food there as expensive as some resort towns or pretty reasonable.

The zip line was not that far. We took a bus chartered by the company. It maybe took 20-30 minutes to get there... it was way out in BFE.
The food is not that expensive. It is comprable to being here in the US. Of course, I only ate out once as I enjoyed our all-inclusive at the Dreams.
You can get good deals on everything in town. If you like to barter it is the place to be.

We took about a 2hr each way boat cruise to a jungle show, dinner over the cliffs on the ocean that was fantastic set up through the resort. We hit one place to eat outside our resort that was fantastic but I will have look up the name again. It was so good we couldn't stop ordering things. 8 of us went and spent over a 1000 on lunch and drinks probably! All inclusive though really kept us at the resort, its the way to go!
