BTW, I've watched cry baby Landon Donovan and his on field antics plenty of times.......the US is NO different, especially with all the international experience they've garnered recently. Laughable!
They dive, they complain constantly, they act like they are amazed when a foul is called on them. Like I said....I don't want to go on with it. I'd rather not bicker back and forth over opinions. You obviously have a hardon for everything that is Italian.....no need to get your panties in a bunch. Also, when you see Landon take a dive like he just got shot by a sniper, like I've see Gattuso do on more than one occasion.....then come talk to me. Whats laughable is you comparing how the US carries themselves to Italy. All you gotta do is watch the games.

I was just looking through the Eurosport catalog that came the other day and I realized that this issue (June) has a $10 gift card on the cover of it. Not one of those ones where it's $10 off after spending x amount. Just $10 to use at the store. I love Eurosport.

Hysterical! You're right, no use in arguing it because anyone who thinks Gattuso is a diver doesn't know what they're talking about or is on something. You sure you have the right player? I'm hoping you mistook him for someone else because Gattuso is Italy's hatchet man who administers the punishment to opposing players.

No I got the right guy....my comment was relating to Milan's Champions League run in '07. I wouldn't go as far as to say he's a diver...whiner is more like it.

Its funny that you get all uppity over my comments. You act like I'm insane for having those OPINIONS on Italian football. Have you ever been to Europe? If not...go check it out, and ask what people outside of Italy think of Italian football.

11 so far in the Bracket Predictor........keep joining!

I've been to Europe MANY times, in fact I'll be there in a few months. I know what other football fans think and IMO it's jealousy. I'm not "uppity", I just can't take those comments and some of the others posted on here, as serious football knowledge. Come on......Gattuso a diver or a whiner, that's insane Auto. As I said before, all the teams in this tournament play act, every one of them, including the US and the almighty proud English.

I don't know why you think it is jealousy that people feel for Italy, you keep bragging about 4 world cup wins. 2 of those were in the 1930's. Who in their right mind would be jealous of two world cup wins before any of us on here were even alive? I am in the boat that thinks Italian soccer just isn't as exciting as most of the soccer played elsewhere. That is not to say I don't respect many of the Italian greats, eg. Totti, Maldini, Del Piero, etc. because they have had some great and exciting players, I just feel their style of play isn't the greatest.

So you do not think Gattuso is a whiner? At all? Wow....talk about be blinded. Let's just end the argument and talk about the WC itself.

Italy is the best EVER. Happy?

Italy is a country of spaghetti vending fags. If you enjoy it so much and aspire to really believe you're a fucking Italian, feel free to take the boat back over and reside in that shit-hole of a country while we Americans will feast on your food and bang the 6 Italian women without Mario mustaches.

Italy plays like bitches. Just wait til the US gets some talent here in the next 12 years. We will dominate. AND YES YOU CAN QUOTE ME. THE US WILL WIN A WORLD CUP IN THE NEXT 4 (counting this one) WORLD CUPS.

I like a ton of the Italian players, but as a national side, I cant get into their style. I respect the hell out of it because it obviously works....but it just puts me to sleep. Personal preference, but Spanish/Dutch/S. American soccer is the most enjoyable followed closely by English and then German.

Italy dives (or a little more accurate, exaggerates) the most of any international team. But it isnt as if other dont do it as well. Hell, until recently Portigal mightve had them beat, but Ronaldo has changed his ways. I dont think it really detracts from anything...I dont think it detracts from ANY team that does it. It just so happens that it coincides with the style of soccer I hate the most to watch, so it sort of adds to me not liking the Italian National Team. But, I think Spain dives quite a bit, and I love Spain. The diving gets annoying, but they are still my second favorite team internationally and them being pretty big divers doesnt take away from that.

I got Spain winning the cup! Diving irks me no matter who does it, but like you said Italians are known for it. Spain was doing it quite a lot during the Euro. As a national side I pull for them because I enjoy watching their matches and their style of play is awesome. David Villa is also one of my favorite players. So sad to see him leave Valencia :( I spent a few days there in '07....awesome city. He was a GOD there.

I'm loving all of the World Cup talk. Just listened to Bill Simmons' podcast talking to Michael Davies and I am jacked for the World Cup. Don't really follow soccer too much but I'm trying to do some cramming before the WC so I can be at least a little knowledgable going in. The USA-England match will be amazing though.

That was a good podcast, I love their banter around the NBA and soccer comparisons.

Don't get your panties in a bunch there Auto, Gattuso is not a whiner, far from it! If I'm blind I'd hate to think what you are, although I have a fairly good idea.
