What are they going to do with Mellon Arena when the season is over? Tear it down?
I have many pleasant memories of that building. I actually attended the first event ever held there. It was a concert by the New York Philharmonic with Leonard Bernstein. I was in high school then and my mother took me. We had a great time!
I gave my last ever performance as a professional figure skater in that arena. Some years earlier, my skating partner and I did a truly horrific audition for Ice Capades there. I'll never forget that day as long as I live!
It's a wonderful old building and I will miss it if they do raze it.

                                It'll be torn down eventually.

No official decision has been made on the Igloo. There's mixed feelings in the city, some want it preserved and developed, many want it torn down. Personally, they need to tear it down.

Isn't the new place right across the street? You'd think they plow it over and make it a parking lot.
Also, it has history, but not a ton of it. Sure, the Pens won some Cups there, but it is a complete and total piece of shit. Why keep it up (Insert anti-Pittsburgh joke here)?

I have a lot of good memories there but I did with Three Rivers, too.
My memories at Three Rivers I don't think would be any different now if the stadium was still standing if you know what I mean.

I wish they'd open the roof for a playoff game like they did in Sudden Impact
