Damn, when I saw this thread, I just knew that you were gonna say that.

I knew he retired, but I didn't know why until I was watching the Buckeyes spring game and Coach Tressel mentioned this.

Sympathys to the Family and the whole Coldwater community.

There was a time when I thought that an athlete’s and student’s ability was more important than a coach. Coach Reed changed that. His ability to bring the best out of his players and students was remarkable. The Coldwater community was blessed to have him as a coach and mentor. May his inspiration continue in all of us as we live our lives…with respect and humility towards others.

May God grant you eternal rest.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Coldwater community. As a Marion Local alum, I've never had anything but respect for Coach Reed and his program at Coldwater.

Coach will be missed...not just as the guy roaming the sideline but also his stature in the community. He was a pillar and a model of virtue.

RIP Coach Reed.

As a Mooney fan, I had a great deal of respect for the coach that was able to knock off the Cards twice in the State Championship game.

Prayers to the Coldwater community, and to Coach Reed's friends and family.

I'm a Kenton grad. It will be weird to look across the field in Week 1 and not see Coach Reed over there.

I've never heard anyone say anything bad about the guy.

My brother, who's class was the first to have him for 4 years, was trying like heck to fly home from Virginia for the funeral this weekend but unfortunately it doesnt look like itll happen.

Over Easter he got home from deployment and wanted to see Coach but he was too fragile for visitors at the time.

He did get to see and talk to Coach two weekends ago as his wife called and they had heard that he was in town and that Coach wanted to talk to him. He got the feeling that he wanted to say his goodbyes.

He felt tremendously humbled and honored at the request and that is how he is going to remember him...their last conversation together...... As a coach. A mentor. As someone who taught him that hard work and perserverance can and will overcome any obstacle.

I know this is "Old" News (No disrespect)

But, wow!

Prayers go out to his family and the community.

I was born and raised in St. Marys and always loved the MAC...especially Coldwater. Alot of it had to do with the way Reed ran his program. I can't exactly remember what he said in an interview but it was something about faith and his players having faith.
A man that wasn't affraid to build men athletically, academically, and spiritually. There is a reason Nobody can say a bad thing about him and the Coldwater Program.

A stand up man that will soley be missed for more than just the Ws and Championships.

At least his suffering is over and he can be at peace.
