I'm hearing the "victim" was a 15 year old. YIKES! I'd say that calls for an arrest.

Btw, Ben was never charged with rape.

When I first seen it on ESPN, it said he was arrested on an accusation of rape. A couple minutes after I started this thread, it came across the bottom that he was charged.

One was charged, one wasn't...seems pretty logical to me.

Anyways, just another scum bag. This is why I never understood people thinking athletes should be role models. Just because kids look up to them because they're great athletes doesn't mean they're great people--not sure why anyone expects great physical ability to equate to good morals.

Exactly! Which is why I said lets see what develops. It's too early for me to say anything on this. Society thrives off of hearsay instead of doing their own investigation.

If they didn't have probable cause to arrest Ben after a 4-5 week investigation, what makes you think they had probably cause the night of the incident? Initially she didn't even accuse him of rape and the rape kit was negative. Cops initial insticts there were correct from the start.

By the way, Kobe wasn't arrested on the spot either. He was allowed to return to LA and an arrest warrant was issued a few days later.

This is different because the girl was 15. If he had sex with her, he's guilty. Hard to charge him unless they knew for certain he did indeed have sex with her, and in that case, he's guilty as charged.

Ramapo authorities told the Journal News that the alleged victim was also beaten at the hotel and treated at a hospital.

"She was a runaway since March and there was a pimp involved," Ramapo supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence told the newspaper. "She got punched in the face. We're not sure who did it."
Statutory rape, soliciting prostitution and perhaps a dose of assault on top of it. LT doin' the damn thing!

They just set his bail at 75K (I assume he posts that).

From what I heard, the girl was a runaway, he paid $300 bucks for it, and was sober. Nice job LT :(
