Always liked Pittsburgh, very underrated a lot of the time, happy to see they're getting the recognition they deserve...

How the hell Harrisburg is one there, though, i have no effing idea...

The list:
http://www.forbes.com/2010/04/29/cities-livable-pittsburgh-lifestyle-real-estate-top-ten-jobs-crime-income_slide_2.html

9. Lincoln, NE
9. Bridgeport-Stamford, CT
8. Trenton-Ewing, NJ
7. Manchester-Nashua, NH
6. Omaha, NE
5. Harrisburg, PA
4. Ann Arbor, MI
3. Provo, UT
2. Ogden-Clearfield, UT
1. Pittsburgh, PA

What a damn weird list.

There are A LOT of fresh college grads moving to that area. The Burgh is definitely doing well. Great city.

It's a weird list because it has conflicting factors, low COL is good, but it also means no one wants to live there.

Any list with Harrisburg, PA is on its face is crazy, the city is contemplating going Chapter 9. Bridgeport is also a complete shithole.

Dead on. After living in Cbus for the last 7 years I'm actually considering a move to Pittsburgh. I know a lot of recent grads who were able to land decent jobs out of school in or around the 'Burgh.

Not a huge fan of Pittsburgh at all, every time I have to travel down there for stuff associated with school I always have problems

It has PROVO, UTAH on the list.

It's lost all credibility.

WOW.

No, you have lost all credibility because you don't even understand the parameters of the list.

And it isn't called the "Most Desirable Places to Live".

Maybe based on price to live there. Pittsburgh is a hell-hole IMO. It always seems sad and depressing.

I would assume cost of living weighs in heavily, otherwise there is no excuse.

Obviously it's not the only factor or Detroit and Youngstown would top the list. Pittsburgh actually having some jobs beyond the fast food/department store/titty bar sector definitely helped them.

There isn't a city south of Lincoln Nebraska on that top 9 list. Austin Texas not mentioned, Savannah, Charlotte all behind Bridgeport CT. Wow, this is a pretty off the wall list. Hard to give it a grain of salt.

The only thing I hate about Pittsburgh(other than their football team) is the way their highways are set up. Terrible, just terrible.

Was this list compiled before or after Rich Rodriguez came to Ann Arbor?

This isn't a list of Americas Best Cities.. Just a list of Most livable, which probably means Pittsburgh has a lot of Metro houses and medicare programs to help out their lame ass citizens who can't speak proper english and announce their favorite sports team as the"Stillers"...

(I kid)

(No, I meant it) :)

Pittsburgh is labeled the most livable city in the country pretty regularly. There are so many great things about the city.....I'm not at all surprised.

I think a lot of other cities would consider receiving such a compliment an honor.

Nice list. I can't wait to see Forbes list of the safest cities. Using similar logic, Detroit has to be #1 because of all the cops they have and the number of people they send to jail. That means they must do a better job than anyone of catching criminals. Not that it is a crime-ridden hell-hole.
