lol, Seton Hall has to think they just couped the #1 recruiting class in the nation for next year. They wouldve SUCKED and now will be projected to make the NCAA tourney.

Agree. But the wild card is still Hummel. He has to stay healthy. He has dealt with multiple injuries while at Purdue. If he can stay healthy, they are easily a top 5 team. Big Ten overall is going to be a bitch next year as all of the best players (minus Turner) are returning.

Big Ten is going to be nasty next year. Purdue is my pick to win the National Championship if Hummel stays injury free.

I don't get all of the love for Purdue. They still don't have a point guard and their depth is questionable. They will win 25 games because college basketball is facing another down year, but the won't cut down the nets.

PG will be Lewis Jackson who missed most of last season with an injury. He should be healthy coming into next season as he played late in the season. Had a very solid frosh year.

I happen to think, when healthy, he is pretty good. Not great..but with Purdue talent around him, he will do just fine.

I happen to think, when healthy, he is pretty good. Not great..but with Purdue talent around him, he will do just fine.
I don't think championships are won with PG's who do just fine.

I don't disagree. But I think Jackson is the missing piece. This is a team who made the sweet16 two years ago, when Jackson was a frosh PG. Last year, they made sweet16 AGAIN without Hummel. Now this is a senior dominated team, with a BIG 3 (Johnson, Moore and Hummel). On top of that, they are a very good defensive team. I certainly think then are a title contender if they stay healthy.

We can agree to disagree. They won't be as good defensively because they lost their defensive leader in Chris Kramer.Guard play in college basketball is crucial. If we were talking about McCamey or Battle I would agree with you ,but Jackson isn't close to those guys.

Really?

Who were the dominant, elite PG's this year, what teams did they play for? Kansas, Kentucky, Ohio State...how'd that work out?

I would say that Jon Scheyer was much better than fine as was Shelvin Mack. I also think MSU would have done better with Kalin Lucas, although Korey Lucious was fine.

Jackson was fine in the loss to Duke. He played 22 minutes and scored ZERO points. Production like that won't help Purdue win a championship.

BTW, Scheyer had 18 points in that game.
