We have a friend who likes to hug. Everyone. A lot. He's a nice guy, and I don't think he mrans anything bad by it. He just hugs people constantly.

What's the best way to let him know that Mrs. FFT and I don't need hugs every time we see him? Have you dealt with huggers in the past? Any ways to get them the message without hurting feelings? He's a little emotionally fragile, so I don't want to hurt the guy's feelings. But all this hugging weirds me out.

Well, I've let it go on for awhile (6 mos?), so anything I do now will seem out of the blue. By not speaking up early, I lured him into a false sense of my being okay with it. Last time I ever make that mistake.

My ex's dad used to hug me all the time. Frickin' weirded me out so I just started putting my hand out AS SOON as I saw him. That way, I initiated the greeting, and it was just a handshake. It worked, because he doesn't hug me anymore we just shake hands
