After doing a lil research, I've decided to try out the new Srixon tour ball. A dozen on order. One of the reasons it was designed was for those with red-green color blindness. Has anyone played it yet?

My brother has been playing them a couple of weeks and seems to really like them.

Not a huge fan of playing a colored ball other than white, but I guess for some if it can help them see it more power to them

If anything it will spark up some conversation at the next skins game

I'm surprised that more colored balls aren't used. What is the deal with that, anyway? Is it a purist thing? The ball HAS to be white? Serious question.

It would seem so, that and the lack of colored balls being high quality. But the Srixon ball is a tour ball and supposed to be pretty durable too. Ill come back with my analysis in a week

What balls did you play before? I am coming from the Callaway Tour ix, am interested in seeing how my color blindness reacts to this ball.

Yeah, I know that colored balls are typically lower quality, but I am just surprised that there aren't more hi-quality colored balls. Must be a purist thing.

Agree, I need to get some John Daly pants for these balls.

^^ White balls are simply the easiest to see. Nike had a promotion a few years ago with black golf balls. I played one for a little while, and that thing just disappeared in the rough. Any color that a guy would want to play (see: not Hot pink, or highlighter yellow--which is not as bad) is pretty much just really difficult to find in the rough.

Though I would play an orange ball any day of the week!

This combo of green and bright yellow is supposed to be highly visible, black had to be terrible to find haha

Black was absolutely insane to find. Forget about it if there is any shade in the course even when it's in the middle of the fairway it'll take three years to find it.

I'm not sure if they still make them, but Maxfli made some Noodles in different colors (called Noodle Ice I believe). Obviously not ProVs but a solid quality ball for being a different color.

The Noodle Ice comes in like a pink color and then a lavender/purply color... I'll admit, I found one and played it for 3 holes because I was out of Noodles myself...

All last year and the year before I gamed the Nike One/Nike One Platinum. Got a deal on two dozen right before they changed them last year. I like those balls, but I could get the darn things to bite on the greens. That's probably more attributed to my horrid short game than anything. lol

This year I decided to switch it up...Nike Ones and Pro V's are too damned expensive for my game, so it was between the Z Stars and Titleist NXTs. My main goal was to find a ball that was a great all around ball. Decent distance, offered control, and was soft around the greens (without ripping up the covers). So far I'm satisfied.

I wonder if you have to play yellow golf balls if you use a cart. ;)

My balls are blue... And I play with them a lot. They are the only balls I play with.
