After reading through the Mavericks thread about blowing the team up, I can't help but think the same with this team. Actually, I think more of Melo leaving when able and go to a place where he'll take them over the top. Who knows about Karl coaching again. Best of luck to him during his recovery btw. The only pieces I really like on this team going forward are Melo and Nene, and possibly Billups. They cannot get it done with the SG's they have. They cannot get it done with Kenyon. They need more definsive minded players and a low post threat. I think Dallas and the Nuggets are the same type of teams. They'll always be a top team in their conference, but they aren't scaring anybody.

Need a serviceable PF plain and simple. Boozer and Milsap and any other athletic PF's kill us. That and everyone else this year besides Melo has pissed down their leg on the offensive end.

In the very very near off season. I hope we get rid of Kmart, draft a solid 4 or pick one up via FA(maybe Haslem) and teach Nene to sprout a pair

The Nuggets look like they are finished. They really missed George Karl.

Chauncey Billups had a good year.

Yea Chauncey's definitely getting shit on by Deron Williams this series. But pretty much everyone gets shit on by Williams. I still think with George Karl the Nuggets are the second best team out West and either the tird or fourth best team in the league. I'm not one of those guys that overrates coaches and think they make all the difference in the world, but I think the lack of continuity+the Nuggets concern for his life not just their season+whatever he brings to the table as a coach that Adrian Dantley doesn't have all added up to make the Nuggets a good team but not the type of team that can compete for a conference or NBA championship.

Its not just on Defense though, Chauncey has games like last night where he doesnt look to score almost AT ALL, even when the team needs it. And then in the 4th quarter when its already a done deal...he starts hitting. He is just so inconsistent on offense it drives me nuts, how can you score in bunches...then just disappear? I dont blame him gettin ate up really...but that pick and roll is like 80% of their offense and Denvers yet to stop it twice in a row, Afflalo should be guarding Williams.

If Denver had a player like Lebron James, they'd be a dynasty.

Well, well, well.

The Denver Nuggets, how I love thee.

I said all along these guys were pretenders. All year. Why? BECAUSE THE LOUDEST GUY IN A CONFRONTATION IS NEVER THE TOUGHEST.

-----------------------------------------

They have championship level talent and high school minds.

JR Smith tweeted last night "You play selfish, you lose selfish." And when JR SMITH is calling out the team for playing selfish, I think we can all agree as to what state that team is in.

This is a team that should've been a run away #1 seed if they handled their business against sub .500 teams this year.

And everybody can say "OMG IF ONLY THEY HAD KARL" well guess what? these are PROFESSIONALS playing against a team without its best defender and has a guy named "Fasenko" from Ukraine as their starting center. Simply no excuse.

There is no doubt in my mind that these guys would be in the same predicament if George Karl was overlording on the sidelines. It's not like he hasn't presided over some of the more epic playoff collapses in his day.

----------------------------

And how dumb is Melo? Remember when LeBron and Wade tried to get him to sign a 3 year contract so they could all be FAs together? Think he isn't regretting that now?

This is a team of me-first players that don't have championship level mental toughness. They just don't get it. They're talented, but how many of these guys would you want on your team?

They should be dumping everybody that isn't named "Carmelo Anthony." Of course, he will be going into the final year of his contract, so they won't do that. Kenyon Martin has a player option for 16 million next year. No way in hell he opts out of that, unless he wants to get a new contract before the lockout. (But who would want him?) JR Smith will be expiring next year, but again--who would want him? Also, Chris Anderson is signed until 2013-14 (lol).

This team sucks. I'm so glad they're at where they are, because they deserve nothing less. They're a joke to the game of basketball.

Not exactly the same words I would have used.

Exactly right though about needing a big man. They have needed one since trading Camby. KMart, Birdman and Nene are not enough.

The Nuggets have been more than frustrating for me. I like their players a lot, but I wouldn't call myself a "fan" of the team. If I was, I'd be pulling my hair out.

This team has arguably just as much talent as any other team in the league, yet they are failing to escape the first round AT HOME.

Sage is right. Mentally, they don't get it. Not enough team guys that will work hard as hell for the next guy.

It's unfortunate too because this is truly a championship caliber team. I'm not sure Carmelo will ever be on a team that is so stacked again.

When Popcorngate happened and K-Mart was threatening his own teammates and also bringing up the fact that he'd skip the playoffs, I knew this team wasn't a threat to win it all, much less the West.

They're in disarray, people are calling people out through twitter and the media... Not good.

Really? Since NBA/ABA merger, Cavs had the 2nd best record(66-16) for a team that didn't even reach the Finals. Only Dirk and Dallas with 67-15 gaffed bigger, i.e. losing in the 1st Round. If Cleveland doesn't reach the Finals again, this will meet Cleveland's other embarrassment giving up 2 successive Cy Youngs by trading deadline the following year.
