Homer toes the rubber today for the Reds, which is a bad sign, but we'll see.

In other BAD news, Harang is making his scheduled start on tuesday.

http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20100424/SPT04/304240051/1071/Harang+remains+in+rotation++will+pitch+Tuesday
“I think he got to a point where he kind of isolated himself into a two-pitch pitcher on one side of the plate, with fastball and slider away to right-handed hitters,” Price said.
Oh really Brian? Cuz it looks to me like when Hernandez sets up low and away that he's hanging shit high and right over the plate. Or when he tries to deliver it low, he skips it over the plate. Honestly he's skipped it over the plate so much that I've started calling him Aaron "Skip to my lose" Harang. Pitch selection is not his problem. Pitch LOCATION is his problem.

Come on Homer, don't give up more than 5 runs today.....please.

Is anyone seeing this game on Fox Sports Ohio? It is not on our Suddenlink leased access ch#19 in Marietta like it usually is. I'm listening with Marty and Jeff.

Oh gosh, I hate suddenlink. Haha. Luckily I wasn't down at school today, I shot up home for the afternoon so I got to catch the game.

Bailey can look lights out, and then he'll just make one or two mistakes and it kills him every time.

The Reds obviously don't use Ohio Chatter. I said going into game 1 that under no circumstance should they pitch to Gonzalez. He went off this series.

This is waht I hate about dusty baker

“I don’t mind those when we win,” Baker said. “We needed this one badly.”

Man did Bailey have some good stuff today. Reports are there was shit all over the ball because he pulled that start out of his ass. Seriously, hopefully this is a sign, but I doubt it. But there was that Homer Bailey we've been hoping for since he got called up, the one we saw at the end of 2009.

He can still improve.....he tends to make mistakes against guys you can't make mistakes against. Hopefully it has boosted his confidence though.

4ER I don't mind. 6IP is still a problem. However, 8K's and 1BB is a HUGE step. Without that, he probably gives up 7 runs today, but keeping guys off base means that when you make mistakes, they don't hurt you as much. If he has more days like today, the IP will go up.

4 earned runs certainly isn't what most pitchers aim for, but hey today's performance was a step in the right direction. His stuff was dynamic and once he gets a little more consistent, those earned runs will go down.

At this point, Bailey is the #4 pitcher... you really can't ask for much more than that out of a #4 (I know he was a high pick and they expect him to be a #2 ultimately). He kept them close and that end the offense bailed him out

All I care about right now is our pitchers keeping it close enough for our offense to win the ballgame. Thats why I was pleased with Homer's start today. I can't sit here and say I'm not happy unless Homer is going 8 innings and giving up 2 runs. Thats unrealistic. Gotta crawl before you walk gentlemen.....

exactly. I have a lot of friends who freak out when a pitcher on their fantasy team gives up 4+ runs. I don't understand the logic. It's a 162 game season. People are going to give up runs here and there. Heck even the great ones give up runs, and I most certainly wouldnt argue that Bailey is a great one haha. If everybody pitched a complete game shut out every start everybody would have an ERA of 0.00...
