this is a problem. when will the Reds realize that Aaron Harang is not a #1. He is not a #2, ....and possibly not a #3. You cannot continually trot him out there expecting him to be the stopper. It is early, and if the playoffs are at least a glimmer...changes need to be made.

Let me edit, that I am a Harang fan...I just think if the Reds realistically think they are goin' to go for it this year...pitching needs to be discussed early and often before July.

Where does Oraldis fit in?

If the Reds have no playoff aspirations this year...then just let it play out.

the Big Red Smokies are delicious.

I am one of the few that are just as apt to go to a Reds game when they are 10 games under .500;

but what about the rest of you?

How the hell can you have an over/under on something so absolute?

I'd still be patient with Chapman. He's going to be special, but you don't want to rush him like Bailey and Cueto. Make the right decision with this kid and stick it out with Harang. He's struggling, but it's still April. There's still 5 months of baseball to be played. However, don't expect to see the Harang of a couple seasons ago. Those days are LONG gone.

another thought is...how long will Walt Jocketty be content to watch a loser club continually stroll out there with no chance of competing...?

It makes me sick to watch the B.R.M continually falter like this.

If the other starters were thriving there would be more pressure on the front office to get Harang out of the rotation. As it stands now he will probably get another month to turn it around before anything is done.

This will never happen but I would seriously think about a 6 man rotation, that way you can limit the innings of cueto, bailey, leake, and then wood/chapman. Of course if they can't go more than 6 it doesn't matter anyways. They only guy this would hurt IMO is Arroyo, he's proven he deserves to be out there every 5 days.

12-34 since the beginning of 2008. That is impressively bad.

I'd agree with that, if not for the fact that through the couple weeks this season has lasted, Leake (who has no minor league experience) has been their most effective starter. As a Pirates fan, he really impressed me. They got to him early on, but he didn't lose composure and wound up shutting them down long enough to turn 2IP/3 runs to 7IP/3 runs. Harang's been poor for nearly two full years, Bailey hasn't shown the ability to consistently pitch well, neither has Cueto. The Reds really need to send a message to the dead weight (Harang) and/or the underachievers (Cueto/Bailey).

With some intelligence, they're a playoff-potential team. But if they trot out ineffective starters most nights, they'll be an afterthought before the all-star game.

This season is shaping up like I feared it might. If they keep this crap up, expect a whole bunch of moves by the break. Harang, Arroyo, Cordero, Rolen and anyone else not nailed down to the floor could be gone.

Looks like he is 88-91 instead of 90-93. Not great location as he gets ball up in the zone...and looks like he has no movement on the ball.

recipe for disaster....he is like batting practice.

Damn! I didn't even notice that last night!

Between Adam Harang, Joey Cueto, Bernie Arroyo and Honus Bailey, I don't know how this team could lose ANY games!

Listening to a game in the first week of the season, I heard Votto called Johnny Votto on WLW.

He must have some Johnny Bench in there somewhere, I dont know where, but it must be there.

I would not be the least bit surprised to see Harang designated for assignment when Chapman is ready to be brought up.

Justin changed the title to Adam last night for all of you out of the loop if you couldn't figure it out by his post.

No way. He makes way too much money for that. Plus, if he is injured, which I think he is, you don't want to just dump a guy that could return to form later.
