It's hard to say. I still think it may be time to deal him for some players who can help the Steelers right away. I think that both sides would be the winners if this was done. The sooner, the better.

The Steelers won't trade Roethlisberger. He is a top 10 QB and they would never get equal value. If this story is an accurate breakdown of what is alleged, then Roethlisberger is guilty of being stupid and boorish, but not criminal .

The one line that I found interesting was this:

She told him something that officers found perplexing: the woman claimed that she and the 6-foot-5 Mr. Roethlisberger had sex while she was sitting on the toilet.

You can probably take that down to about 4 or 5.

Put him on the Rams or Raiders and see if he's still top 4 or 5 in your eyes. Bet he isn't.

I'd take Brady, Manning, Brees, Rodgers and Rivers over Ben... I'm sure I could think of more.

He's in the perfect system for his skill set. If he would have come into the league with the Lions, Browns or Rams, I don't think he's the household name that he is today. Just my opinion....

His stats sure point to that, and he does have the titles...why is that so outrageous?

And what do you mean, nice try? It's not like I'm a Steelers fan, nor do I get anything from saying he is top 5... it's just a casual observation.

Sorry, but anyone who sees Ben as a top 4 or 5 QB is an idiot.

He's good, top 10ish for sure, I would put him in the 8-12 range but like someone said above...

Brees, Brady, Manning, Rivers, Rodgers, Favre (if he comes back), and maybe even Schaub are for sure above Roethlesberger.

After that you can place him in the group with Romo, McNabb, Eli Manning, etc. Ben, even at best, is 7th, given the most optimistic view of him, he's 7th, not 4th or 5th.

Maybe he's not 4th or 5th best, but someone who would argue that a QB who threw for over 4000 passing yards, 26 TDs, and 12 INTs and has 2 Super Bowl rings is top 5 certainly isn't an idiot.

Manning, Brady, Roethlisberger, Brees......end of argument.

Although I think you could flip flop Roethlisberger and Brees.

Schaub? Rodgers? Now that is funny.

Funny how the "ring argument" gets used here, but cannot be used at all in regards to Kobe-Lebron

Schaub may be funny. Rodgers definitely isn't. Most would put him ahead of Ben.

No one said it can't be used at all...simply, that you cannot say Kobe is better than Lebron because he has rings and Lebron doesn't. There are many variables involved in that...two completely different situations.

Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Phillip Rivers, Tony Romo, and Eli Manning are all better quarterbacks than Roethlisberger.

I don't know if I'd take Eli Manning over Roethlisberger but I don't think Ben is top 5.

People forget how good Pittsburgh's defense has been and how well they have been coached over the years. You put any halfway decent QB on that team and they can do some damage.

I mean I didn't make the greatest argument in Ben's case, simply because I don't want to take the time to look at all the stats...but I at least threw out a few stats..

As for the Ben "ranking" argument....I'd say anywhere from 5th-7th sounds about right.
