Just got back from the Mohican "Forget the PR" 50K & 25K trail race. Great conditions today if you were running it (low 40's), cold to be watching/crewing though! My wife knocked 20 minutes off her time from last year's 50K so she was pretty happy (and very tired, lol). This is the second year the 50K has been run and the first year for the 25K and the race was extremely well run (as it was last year). Race web site: http://www.mohican50k.com/

Gymshoe, I know you talked about possibly running this earlier in the year, by chance did you run either the 25K or 50K?

Con_Alma my wife told me to tell you the next time I "talked" to you that it is all your fault that I just spend 6+ hours of my life watching/crewing for her!!! :D

Congrats on the PR and the continued passion for the great sport of ultras!!!

I'll gladly take the blame. I'm still waitin' for the day you finally decide to toe the line for one. Promise you'll tell me when it is and I'll be there....if you need a crew...I'd be happy to do it ...if not...I'll run it with you!!

Stationrun, wow, I can't believe I missed your race report. Great job by your wife, actually that's quite amazing. I wish I was "there." I did manage another 1/2 marathon, but, I'm not quite ready for a 25 or 50k trail run, although it sounds like a lot of fun. I just have so much respect for ultrarunners like your wife, I mean, the miles necessary just to compete in those events boggles my mind. I am truly in AWE!

Mrs. Station just signed up for the Mohican 50 mile trail run in June, I truly believe she has lost her marbles. :D

StationRun, I have a friend who will be turning 50 years of age, and, his goal is to complete the 50 Mile Mohican Trail run. He, and your wife, are truly without marbles! LOL.

My wife is also 50, my goal when I turned 50 three years ago was to start running again, which I did (and still am). But your friend and my wife are crazy for having a goal of running a 50 miler when they are 50, lol!

My heart thinks my body could do 50, thankfully my mind says NO. Like you SR, I restarted running about 3 years ago and have been able to run two half-marathons. Unfortunately, my right knee is telling me to back off right now.........one of those benefits of getting old. It is a joy to be able to get out there and put in some serious miles. That kind of addiction is one of a kind IMO.

Gymshoes I thought you started back around the same time as I did. That's great running 2 half's!! I'm still getting up the nerve to try a 10 mile trail race, maybe in the fall!
