This weekend, the Ohio State University will play host to not one, but TWO!!! wrestling events.

The first will be Friday night, at Tom Ryan Arena (formerly St. John Arena)...7pm, in a dual against #17 Lehigh University. The Mountain Hawks come in fresh off victories over Rider, Penn State AND Pitt.

There line up could look like this...

125: John McDonald
133: #12 Matt Fisk
141: #18 Seth Ciauslli
149: Brian Tanen
157: Sean Bilodeau
165: #12 Mike Galante
174: Robert Hamlin
184: #12 David Craig
197: Joe Kennedy
HWT: #6 Zach Rey

Not bad!

Aside from that dual meet on Friday night, the Buckeyes will also play host for the Buckeye Duals. 12 teams... 6 mats... 15,000+ fans!!!

10:00 AM
Mat 1 Ohio State vs. Findlay
Mat 2 Notre Dame vs. Cle State
Mat 3 Kings vs. ONU
Mat 4 Lycoming vs. Mt. Union
Mat 5 Wilkes vs. Ashland
Mat 6 Seton Hill vs. Mt. St. Joes

12:00 PM
Mat 1 Ohio State vs. Notre Dame
Mat 2 Cle State vs. Findlay
Mat 3 Kings vs. Mt. St. Joes
Mat 4 Lycoming vs. ONU
Mat 5 Wilkes-Mt. Union
Mat 6 Seton Hill-Ashland

2:00 PM
Mat 1 Ohio State vs. Cle State
Mat 2 Notre Dame vs. Findlay
Mat 3 Kings vs. Mt. Union
Mat 4 Lycoming vs. Ashland
Mat 5 Wilkes vs. Mt. St. Joes
Mat 6 Seton Hill vs. ONU

4:00 PM
Mat 1 Lycoming or Ohio State vs. Kings
Mat 2 Wilkes vs. ONU
Mat 3 Mt. St. Joes vs. Mt. Union

I'm not exactly sure what happens at 4pm, but it looks like some teams will be leaving early to get a leg up on the travel.

Either way, I think we have ample opportunity to see some ABSOLUTELY G-R-E-A-T wrestling this weekend.

Then, Tuesday, is the Central District All-Star meet!!! Sensory overload! Good greif, if knightflyer says hi to me on Tuesday I might need some new undies!!!!!!! :)

I don't recognize all the teams so it might be difficult to guess sweet match-ups, but I will say that some of the duals like NDC/CSU and NDC/MU - or even UF/CSU - could get entertaining! I think those type of duals have the makings for some very close matches.

Aside from that, I think this event showcases a wide array of wrestling...and mostly Ohio! I'd love to see KSU and OU involved somehow. All Sunday long there will be great matche going on!

Great match between the Buckeyes and the Mountain Hawks!

22-12 ... Good guys!

CoMo = riding time stops when clasping is committed. There should have been 1:03 left on the clock instead of :58, which is where some of my confusion started. So he's up by one with 10 seconds, clasps to tie it and stops the decent of the riding time, which his opponent had the advantage, and thus, gained the go-ahead point to win the 285 match.

Other than, great night. I'd a like to see Jameson pull it out, but then, who would not have?

I saw him - i think - from across the gym. If he had his lettermen's jacket on, i saw him. I also saw the snuggly one!

Cruiser,
Maybe I missed the riding time point, I thought the ref awarded the escape.

Had the assistant raised the signal higher, the table was trained to know to stop it...it did cause some confusion, especially from the coaches viewpoint, on both sides. In the end it all worked out.
