No. When I go, I think I want the world to go with me. It would anyway. I'm the only being that truly exists here. You and everyone else are just figments of my imagination, so when I die, it all disappears.

What happened was they ran out of rock to chip the years into so they stopped. Nope. The world, as in the planet earth, will cease to exist in about 5 billion years when the sun expands into a red giant phase and consumes the planet in it's expansion. At the very least the planet will be rendered completely uninhabitable to people when the oceans boil off and the atmosphere is lost.

Word on the street is right around Dec 21st, 2012 all the planets will be in perfect alignment with the sun causing some kind of polar shift. I don't think the world will end but I think some pretty heavy stuff will happen.

Yes and the same alignment happens every single year on December 21st with no ill effects at all.
