Are you one of the baseball fans that just looks at average, HR, RBI to determine a player's value? Or do you take it further, checking out their SecA and VORP?

Personally, I used to be a HR/RBI/BA kind of guy (since those are pretty easy to understand) but the most I thought about them (specifically RBI) I started to think they weren't as telling as other means of measurement. I could lose myself in some of the extra stats they have today, but now I've started paying attention to a few of the advanced things like OPS and VORP.

OPS and OBP are the GOAT stat when comparing it to BA.

BA is almost a worthless way to judge a player, almost (it does have a small value).

SecA is boss as well ... (bases - (hits+walks+stolen bases-caught stolen))/at bats. Adds value for guys that can steal bases.

I basically just pay attention to HR's because that's the only thing fun about baseball.
