Never seen a school pull the plug midseason before.

Looks like they've got a mess on their hands in every aspect imaginable. They were down to 11 players from what seems both injuries and people quitting.

Maybe someone more familiar with the situation can shed some light on it.

that's a shame, from what little I could gather from the article.

Also puts all of your remaining opponents in a bind to try and find games to replace those that you're going to lose on the schedule

ok, so you've only got 11.....last time I checked you play 9 in a baseball game. Why cancel the season now? Obviously they may be short on pitching but so what, losing is still a better option for the remaining 11 kids than just throwing the remainder of the season away. Sounds to me like there's more to this story than is being told in the article.
