Westbrook vs. Verlander
Westbrook is just not back to form. Gotta go with the Tiger to sweep as much as it pains me to say so.
I'm cautiously optimistic for my Tribe. The pitching really has surprised me...it actually looks halfway decent, which makes me even more furious that Lee was given away. How much better would today's match up have been if it was Lee vs Verlander? I like the combnation of Brantley Druby and Grady at the turn of the order but I'm unconvinced that Sizemore should be in the 2 hole. I don't like the 3 lefties in a row....to easy for the opposition to play match up in the crucial late innings.

Still think they lose at least 100 games. Hope I'm wrong.

Pitching, pitching, pitching!!! Tigers getting more than expected. Tribe more of the same, but a bit shakey. Neither hitting teamwise. Westbrook had better show some of his old form. Same for Verlander, as he showed little in Florida and his first start.

Tribe's ERA is 3.68 with the least amount of hits allowed (27) after 5 games....who would have thought??
Tribe's BA after 5 games is .210 with 14 runs scored (1 HR).....who would have thought??
The exact opposite of what was expected.

Verlander was fine in Florida minus his last start. He will win between 17-19 games again. Bottom 3 guys in the Tigers order need to improve but plenty of time to go and one is a rookie. If they keep getting the pitching they have had this first week, they will contend.
Tribe will be alright once the bats come around. I doubt they lose 100 games or even 90 for that matter.

Cabrera and Brantley lead off the game with hits for the Tribe.
Sizemore is out of the line up with lower back stiffness.

Westy shows how NOT to pitch with a 5 run lead...walks the first batter on 4 pitches. Way to work ahead.

Westy pissed me off so much with that leadoff walk. Got the next too though, but is dealing with Miggy.

The Indians came into the game leading the league in walks allowed with 31, an average of 6 a game.
They led the league in fewest walks allowed this spring.

Great throw by Choo to get the runner at the plate, and a better job of holding on to the ball by Marson as he got steamrolled.
