Well, you can get into the infield w/ a General Admission ticket as well. I just don't know if it's better to be in the Bacardi Club. I would much prefer to be w/ the common party folk, whichever section that is!

Go as high roller as you can. Always the best idea.

se - I'm going this year for the first, as well. From the people I've talked to, here's the deal (just what I've been told, I'm still considering my options).

A general admission ticket is going to be about 5x less in price and only gets you into the infield and pavilion. It is basically the party ticket and you aren't going to see much or any of the actual race (save for TV). My impression is that this is the common nascar fan transplanted to a horse track (and I'm not saying that is a bad thing - you can take your own cooler, chairs, etc.).

The Bacardi Club (from what I've seen runs about $250) gets you a nice lounge and some big screens as well as a step up in your company (this is where you'd probably want to dress up a little bit). You still aren't going to get anywhere but the infield.

You can find reserved seating that gets you access to the whole place, including obviously a grandstand (or other area) seat to see the race. This access gets you the full experience and there are still tickets available in the same price neighborhood as the Bacardi Club.

If you get any other good information, I'd appreciate your posting it here because again, I'm going to be a first timer and can only rely on what others are telling me.

Thanks for the info! From what I've found so far, you're looking at $40 for GA and $200 for Bacardi Club, then I'm sure there are plenty of taxes and service fees on top of that. I don't have to spend money for a hotel, so I wouldn't be opposed to paying for the Bacardi tix. However, I don't really care if I see the race or not, so if everyone else in our group wants GA tix, that's probably what we'll end up going with. If I hear anything else, I will gladly pass it on.

Cool, thanks. I'm in a similar situation. We are staying at the Hyatt 10 minutes from the track on frequent guest points, which makes it easier to justify going all out on the tix. The Bacardi Club seems like a nice middle ground because you can still party in the infield but also have a classy little retreat.

There'll be good looking women everywhere. The highest probability of actually getting them to talk to you is definitely the drunk sluts in the infield.

I went a few years back and was in the infield. Like said you pretty much watch the races on the big screen, but you will party like crazy and see plenty of boobs.

From what I have heard from a lot of people is that if you just want to be in the infield and party the Preakness is where you should spend your money

I went years ago while in college for several years. The infield always has great action. If you can't get laid its because you are ugly as he11 ( or too drunk). Always lots of hot women.

I have a free place to stay in Louisville, so it's only going to cost me the ticket and whatever I spend that day in alcohol. I wouldn't be going if I had to pay for a hotel or anything like that.

Good reason. I've just heard that Pimlico turns into Mardi Gras basically for the Preakness.

I mean shit...

We went ahead and got the $40 GA tix. I still can't find an exact list of what you are allowed to take in.

Yea, we decided not to go. I would much rather eat the $40 for the ticket than go stand in the rain all day.

I haven't followed the field much, but if you are a betting person, bet on the biggest strongest horse there.
