They did not charge him, not because he wasn't guilty, but because they figured they would save tax payers billions on the prison food bill by letting him go.

They are staying away because they realize that again.....logic has taken over.

Hes still an idiot, but I had a feeling it was going to end up like this.
Exactly... even though he has been found innocent twice, he's still dumb as fuck for putting himself in the situation repeatedly.

So, should he just not talk to women? I mean, I get that the sex in a public restroom thing was probably a bad idea if that is what happened.

But aside from that, what is the situation he repeatedly puts himself in that millions of other guys don't? Because he has money and is famous he should assume that every woman he meets is going to be a lying, money grubbing whore?

Generalized douchebagery. He needs to grow up and just stop being a dick around women.

If you know him personally, I'd say okay fine. But what is it about the fact that two women fabricated claims to try and steal his money (essentially) that means he needs to grow up and/or quit being a dick.

You meet a girl, she likes you, you like her, you do it. Then she makes up some bullshit about you and YOU are the one who is a dick?

Then what is "it" that attracts all these gold digging whores to Ben? There has to be a common denominator somewhere. What is it about Ben that says "easy mark" to gold diggers? Why not the plethora of other high profile athletes in the same row boat as Ben?

C'mon...clearly he's done something to piss these women off enough to have gone through all this garbage, a woman scorned ya know. Grow up man. I'm not saying it because I loathe the Steelers, I just think the reason Ben finds himself in these situations is because Ben creates them by his actions.

I couldn't say either way because I don't know him. Certainly possible, but without really knowing the details, or the women, it is hard for me to just automatically assume he deserved it.

Seriously, think about how easy it is just to make something up about someone. Is he supposed to just not talk to women at all? I don't think that is reasonable, but really that is about the only way to ensure you're never going to get this kind of spotlight.

If two women you've been with in your life suddenly accused you of raping them, would you blame yourself for being with them in the first place?

I don't know him any more than anyone on this board maax, but it's pretty safe to assume that he had more than a little bit to do with the problem he's faced. Lol, I mean think of the odds. Once, yeah...ok, lesson learned...twice... DOH! Of ALL the NFL players to have come through the league, how many have had this situation happen not once, but twice? That's a pretty damn exclusive club. The way you make it sound, Ben here is being victimized, imo, that couldn't be further from the truth.

You ever think this happens A LOT more often with athletes than we know and Ben just refuses to pay the bitches off so they file suit or cry to the cops?

How can you be found innocent when you haven't even been charged with a crime?

It's likely that he will walk but kinda funny that ESPN is the ONLY media outlet reporting this. If memory serves me correctly, ESPN also reported that Michael Vick would be indicted.

I'm sorry. Wrong word...I meant "convicted." ESPN said that Vick likely wouldn't face charges.

While Goodell may use the fooling around in a bar bathroom (allegedly, it's a credible story but still unconfirmed officially) as justification for a 1-2 game suspension, it probably saved Ben's ass. If he had taken this women home and she subsequently accused him he'd be up shit's creek.

Two things:
1) I'm reminded of a comment Kobe made of how "Shaq would pay up to $1M for girls to keep quiet". He said that to police, in an apparent moment of incredulous disbelief, so there's probably something to other guys quietly paying these girls off (or perhaps buying them something so they walk away happy).

2) An argument could be made that if Harrah's never fires McNulty there would never have been any allegations against Ben. McNulty is also suing Harrah's, which may be her real target (in addition to Ben, several other people were named in that suit). It's entirely possible this other girl (or her friends) had heard about the McNulty case and that might very well have motivated the accusation which appears, at best, to have been a drunken overreaction or possibly a ploy to save face with a boyfriend (her story was reportedly inconsistent and she immediately hired a lawyer and clammed up).

Seems a lot of other girls go the child support route. Maybe it's an "oh crap, Ben's learned to wear a helmet" factor.
