.....is pretty damned easy, convenient when you ask them after coming out of "going under" for a surgery.

Does it make one a bad person by using this window of opportunity to get some nonobstructive answers?

It doesn't make you a bad person, it makes you one who take the best of what opportunities are presented to you.

However, there is a reason anything said in that condition would not be allowed as credible evidence in a court of law, they weren't in control of thier senses, so take what they might say as just that.

Ha. No, no information would be used in a court of law....I meant mostly about.....well.....how the person feels and thinks and stuff.

Ive heard that to get a person to truly speak their mind...get em drunk...or after coming outta surgery as they dont have that filter and speak what is R E A L L Y on their mind!

You might get the truth with them in that state, but you might just be stirrng up a hornet's nest you really don't want to deal with.

The only thing is that just because they are speaking what is on their mind doesn't mean it is the truth. I've had moments of being under the influence - of anything from cold medicine to whatever they used to knock me out for surgery - in which I talked about a lot of crazy shit. Apparently I was having weird dreams, visions, thoughts, whatever. Just because I said what was on my mind didn't mean my brain was processing reality or truths.

^^Probably true. But I know when Im under a certain state there are things i will say that normally I would hold back and not say certain things....

Yeah maybe for you. I don't know, though, if I'd classify things like that as "truth", at least in my case. For example, I've said things like, "Yes, I do find you attractive" and "Sure I'd be interested in you even if I hadn't drank 17 beers" and "I'll give you a call tomorrow". I mean, I may have meant them at the time, but after sober consideration those statements couldn't have been farther from the truth.

Okay, so if you thought your chic was banging someone else and you questioned her while she was hopped up and she said she is banging someone else, it is probably true. But you probably didn't need to go that far, it you thought it to begin with, it was probably true.

Since you're talking about it, you might as well spill the whole story. Sure would make it easier to form an opinion and to offer worthless advice.

So you're telling me that you had this opportunity and the best you could come up with was, "do you think you see a future with me"?

You didn't try to pry any kind of past coverups or secret fantasies out? If your going to be unethical, you might as well make it worth your time. I mean, didn't you already have a pretty good idea as to whether or not there could be a future?

I'd say getting straight answers from someone while they're coming out of surgery is definitely a better way to do so than torture. Maybe less rewarding, but a lot more humane.
