Well it seems as I have been the latest victim of identity theft. I woke up to a 240.00 charge to my debit card from a CVS in Howell, Michigan. Why in God's name would I ever go to Michigan, let alone spend money there?! I am a little pissed off, headin to the bank at 9 when they open to work this shit out. I mean if I am going to take money from someone, why not take it from someone who actually HAS it?

Fuckin assholes.

Is it too early for a beer?

Had this happen to us awhile back 1st time was my debit card in Mexico. Rang up like 1500 bucks worth

2nd time they opened 5 cell phone accounts in Boston. Hit me for around $900.

Between my bank and my credit card protection program it wasn't to bad to clean up.

The first one, the (local) bank knew it wasn't me cause I had made a deposit into the account the same day the charge was made.

2nd one was little more involved but still not a horror story.

You will be fine

It happened to me last year, someone got my debit card number and was using it. My bank (Chase) cleaned it up for me, and I wasn't out any money. It was a little annoying but nothing too overwhelming.

I had someone who got my credit card number and they charged about $1200 at the "Boot Barn" store in California. I looked up the place and it actually is a store that just sells boots. Who buys $1200 in boots? Even with someone elses credit card, how do you spend $1200 on BOOTS?!

Had that happen to me a couple years ago, someone accessed a work bank account using my identity and took off with $30,000 of the companies money. Found this site useful when I was dealing with it: http://www.idtheftcenter.org/
