Yeah that's a realy weird move to the Eagles. The skins may be decent this year. Would love to see McNabb keep them out of the playoffs.

Why trade him to a team in your own division?

I will be very interested in seeing what they got in return.

I would imagine this ends the talk of Claussen or Bradford to Washington.

Just saw it scroll on the bottom of the yanks/sox game. Wonder what they gave up.

I thought they were going to try to avoid trading him in the conference, let alone the division. I think it will be funny if Favre doesn't come back to MIN and now the Viks missed out on the next best option at QB.....

Not Nessicarily.

McNabb is 33 or so. And his contract expires this season. They will probably still take a QB to groom. They'll probably be in play for Tebow or McCoy in the 2nd round, if they don't take one in the 1st.

The first leaks are starting to come out and it is likely that Philly got Washington's 2nd round pick as part of the package.

It wouldnt surprise me if one of the Redskins RB's was part of the deal as well.

Details right now are a 2nd round this year and either a 3rd or 4th round next year.

Washington will take him if he is there at 4th with this move.

This may open up Joe Haden to Cleveland.

Philly will probably regret trading him within the divison.

There is a reason the Packers played stonewall with Favre when he wanted to go play against them in the division if they didn't want him. His performances verse them last year is perfect example of why you don't let a still talented quarterback you just don't want anymore go to someone that can hurt you on the schedule.

McNabb can still play. He may have run his course in Philly, but he has good football left in him. I would not be shocked in the least bit to see him excel under Shannahan next year and make Andy Reid wonder what in the world he was thinking.

I was thinking he may be in play for them now as well.

But I could still see them taking an OT, if not a QB.

Edit: was meant to be under BR's post.

A very questionable move on Philly's part. He will be at the top of his game when they play to stick it to them.

I can't wait to see what kind of reception he gets from the fans at Philly next season as an opposing QB.

Philly screwed this thing so hard it couldn't walk, they got desperate and made the worst move for themselves possible (as far as playing against him again)

Just a strange way to part with one of your franchise players over the past decade.

The Eagles were just in the playoffs and ahead of one of their division rivals, the Redskins, who do not have a franchise QB like McNabb, which is a reason why they're usually behind in the division.

So the Eagles leave themselves with the question mark that the Redskins had -- do we have a franchise QB? -- and help the Redskins fill their void. :D

People blamed McNabb in Philly and gave Reid a pass. Donovan never really had a power running game to keep defenses honest and only played with a star receiver twice (T.O. and Jackson). I got a feeling that this will come back to hunt the Eagles. I'm rooting for Washington now.

Yeah, this pretty much eliminates us getting Eric Berry.

On the other hand, Philly is stupid. they have tried to trade McNabb, one of the best QB's in the game for the past few years. Just plain ignorance towards him, imo..

I'm sure McNabb has two dates marked on his calender.

Philly fans NEVER liked the McNabb pick.. I think the front office has always felt heat from the fans since taking McNabb... (Which I don't get either)
