I watched a little bit of the 1st quarter of the Lakers-Spurs game and he came up with this gem.

"Kobe Bryant should be in the Hall of Fame right now"

Might as well be, he's a 1st ballot as is anyway.

Said he should be the first active player to ever be put in the Hall of Fame.

I think we ought to keep the Hall of Fame for retired NBA Stars unless they die prematurely and are voted in by a special committee. they may already do this. I'm far from an expert concerning Hall of Fame inductions in the NBA.

Yeah, I don't agree with that... That's just JVG being JVG.. He's looking for the funny and witty one liners, which sometimes to his credit, he delivers.

If an active player were to be inducted, it would have been MJ.

Honestly, and I'm not saying this because of Kobe, because he's one of the All-Time Greats.

But does anyone honestly give two shits about the Basketball HOF?

To me the only relavant HOF's are Football and Baseball.

I feel that way too. Pete Rose not being in there is retarded and for a while, steroid abusers will be getting in.

If Pete had been a drug addict he would already be in.

Yea, the whole quote went something like this:

"I don't think its right that a head coach can be inducted into the HOF while he's still coaching. You'd think they would have to follow the same rules as the players do and be retired in order to be eligible for the HOF. If this is the case, then I say we allow active players into the HOF, and if that's the case then Kobe should be in the HOF right now since he'll be a first ballot HOF"

So really, he didn't say it out of the blue.

Only HOF that means anything to me is the football. It seems to be the most exclusive.

Do you work from ESPN?

Because this is what they do, they take one line out of a quote and make a story about it.
