I am thin at RP in my 12-team league (injuries are already killing me), and I was considering starting Chris Perez in week 1, but his poor Spring has me worried. Should I roll the dice, or start a 2-start SP like Nick Blackburn? In my league, you can start 8 pitchers (regardless of SP or RP), and no other closer is available in free agency. Right now, here is pitching lineup:

SP- Tim Lincecum
SP- Josh Johnson
SP- Cole Hamels
SP- Chris Young (replaces injured Scott Kazmir)
SP - Kyle Kendrick (replaces injured Dice-K)
RP - Jose Valverde
RP - Jon Rauch
??? - Chris Perez? Nick Blackburn?

Help! Thanks ...

Man, thats tough. He could be a diamond in the rough fantasy wise this year....or he could just blow. So far, he has been, ummmm, turrible. I have him on my team, but he is on a short leash

I usually like to have 3 closers, but that's just me. (I picked up Chris Perez, by the way haha. Hopefully he doesn't suck)

I draft on ESPN and you can have 9 pitchers and 3 bench spots.

I almost always go with 7 closers and 5 starters.
