Duke is the best team in college basketball. I've watched the tournament wire-to-wire and Duke has been better than any other team I have watched. The shooting ability of Singler, Scheyer, and Smith makes them almost impossible to defend. The emergence of Zoubek(I don't know why it took 3 1/2 years)gives the shooters extra opportunities and wide open 3 point shots.

Congrats to the 2010 Tournament Champions, the Duke Blue Devils.

I think Kentucky would have beaten Duke. Duke wouldn't have packed it in and UK would have gotten to the bucket at will.

But overall, Duke deserves to win it all. Ken Pomeroy has had them #1 in his computer rankings all season. Usually Pomeroy has Duke too high but he seems to be dead on this season.

Zoubek's development has been the key. He's allowed Duke to play a true four and five at all time, which has made them a great rebounding team. Duke essentially runs the same offense they have run the last few years, but this year they have the big guys to chase down the 3's they miss.

I totally agree, I've bashed you (Prescott) for a few weeks about anti-Duke threads/posts, so I am shocked by this. I logged on here expecting to see excuses about why Duke won :)

Yup, just hand it over. They dont have to play Butler who will have a home game.

Maybe Wisconsin or NC State is the best team in bball considering they beat Duke this year.

Duke had by far the easiest road to the final 4. The #2 seed got beat in the second round.

Or perhaps MSU had the easiest road bc Kansas lost in the second round as well. Duke just played the teams they were told to.

The Kansas bracket was loaded compared to Duke's. No comparison.

Butler has the better wins of the tourney.

Is it Duke's fault Villanova lost to St. Marys??? NO
Is it Duke's fault Syracuse lost to Butler??? NO
Is it Duke's fault Kansas lost to N. Iowa??? NO
Is it Duke's fault UK lost to West Virginia??? NO
Is it Duke's fault Ohio State lost to Tennessee??? NO

Shut the fuck up and realize Duke beat the teams put in front of them, and just handled a team that BEAT KENTUCKY. Am I, or is anyone, going to apologize if Duke wins on Monday??? HELL NO.

I'll give you Butler and the points and I don't even know what the points are. The question is not whether or not duke will win. The question s will Mack and Howard be at full strength., so Butler has a fighting chance

I thought it was one of the cuter moments in Free Huddle history:)

It's nice to see prescott look at Duke objectively for once, though. Not that he hasn't before, but it is a rarity.

He is wrong about one thing, however. No one has won anything yet. Butler is a damn good basketball team.

I don't know how I feel about this move that lessens the full frontal assault every Duke fan has planned for Prescott if Duke does what it needs to do on Monday.

I respect the conciliatory post...I respect the poster because although he is misguided at times, he generally posts his opinions and backs them up with facts(good facts)

But I still have issues from the Ahdonis days....

This has to be a tough time....this is the antifan's worst nightmare. Hopefully he doesn't wake up till the nightmare is complete.

I have accepted the inevitable conclusion to this basketball season. Duke winning the championship isn't my worst nightmare. It is only basketball and I did make $500.00 on the Purdue game.

While Duke fans will remember this as a special season and tournament I will have my memories of this season and tournament as well.It is all good.

I don't think Duke is the best team, but they are a deserving champion. They earned it, while the other top teams flopped.

I think it's better said as not thinking Duke is the most talented team, but they're great enough to earn a 1 seed and they're the only 1 seed left so I think it's safe to say that if they win they're the best team.

Gotta give credit where credit is due....Duke is playing lights out. They were VERY impressive against a WVU defense who I thought was about as good as it gets defensively in college ball. Duke's spacing and shot selection was unreal. They had open look after open looks. It really was an offensive clinic. And they are very solid defensively. They actualy remind me a bit of OSU as they play really well as a team, and when clicking from the outside...they are tough to beat. They know their roles and play them very well. If they play the way they did vs WVU...they will win. But don't count out Butler...every tiem I think they don't have a chance, they do. Hopefully should be a great final game.
Lastly, man for man, I woudn't say Duke is the best team in college. BUT, its the NCAA and Duke is playing at the top of their game right now. And at this time of year, thats what its all about.

Duke is very good. They or Butler deserve to win the National Championship.

This year has been weird for me. In most years I think the tournament winner would win it all even if each round were a best of five series or something. This year, I don't think either of these teams would survive that. I really still think Syracuse was/is the best team in the country. Duke and Butler are both damn good though and they more than deserve to be where they are.

Very true. It's called good coaching. That's why Michigan State was in the final four, and that's why Butler and Duke are in the NC game. K and Izzo consistently get their teams...who aren't usually "man for man the best or most athletic in college basketball" to play their absolute best at the exact right time. And Butler is playing like that this year too.
