Lewis Jackson, who started 30 games last year, will be out of the Purdue lineup indefinitely due to foot surgery. This is not a huge blow since Purdue's backcourt is stacked but it does hurt to lose a player who made the all Big 10 freshman team last year.

Lew Jack was scheduled to miss the exhibition games and one or two of the regular season games, due to his arrest in August.

The Boilers better hope to get him back before Hummel's fragile back starts acting up again.

LewJack, I think, is a bigger loss than people thing. Based on his numbers from last year sure they can skirt by without him. But he will have improved dramatically I would think. Im not sure Purdue has anything close to a PG with the talent of Jackson. He will be missed, maybe not in the results of the team, but certainly in the performance and the way they play together.

Man, that is a big blow. I wouldnt have been worried if he wasback for B10 season, but they are really without a true PG now.

I havent seen DJ Byrd play since HS, can he make the transition to college PG???

I can't answer that. But looks like the Boilers are going to have to depend on the kid from Crawfordsville sooner than they liked.
